Overview

The Team Lead has overall responsibility for the creation (and quality) of all HR management information (including recurring metrics, KPIs, board packs, and ad hoc analysis/statistics).

They will have deep general knowledge of HR data and reporting principles, to ensure that the team’s output is always high quality and best practice.

They will have strong Workday report-writing skills, capable of creating complicated reports and Discovery Boards, with up-to-date knowledge of Workday’s reporting tools.

The Team Lead will manage and develop a small team of HR MI Analysts, leading them to improve existing processes, to increase the speed, reliability and quantity of reports that the team produces.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create new Workday custom reports to replace manual data transformation processes in Excel.
  • Work with wider HR team to identify new reporting requirements.
  • Train and support HR MI team to use Workday reporting tools.
  • Oversee the HR MI team’s delivery of regular and ad hoc reports (to drive efficiency and reliability).
  • Work with Data Office to deliver reports through dashboards and PowerBI.
  • Manage the HR report catalogue & EQ standard People reports
  • Fully leverage People Analytics module within Workday
  • Leveraging AI for People analytics and reporting
  • Executive reporting – for Board/HCC meetings, ELT meetings. Work closely with Chief People Officer and other ELT and People XLT members.
  • Ownership of HR Data:
    • Work with Data Office to define ‘official’ fields and data sources to be used in all reporting, to ensure reliability.
    • Ensure data is shared safely: work with Data Office to define and maintain data sharing policy.

Technical Requirements

Essential

  • Proven experience creating advanced and matrix reports in Workday.
  • Strong understanding of Workday’s data model: business objects, data sources, etc.
  • Strong experience with Discovery Boards, Worksheets and scheduled reports.
  • Experience with Workday HR functional areas including absence, compensation, performance, recruitment, and talent.

Desirable

  • Familiar with curated data sources, curated fields and business views.
  • Advanced Workday report skills: calculated fields, composites reports, etc.
  • Experience with the Workday eco-system: Community, bi-annual releases, etc.
  • Experience with other reporting tools, especially PowerBI.

General Requirements

Essential

  • Experience of managing and developing a reporting team.
  • Strong prioritisation and planning skills.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Comfortable to receive, evaluate and discuss new report requests in person.
  • Able to negotiate changes to requests, to ensure best practice.
