Job Description

Purpose of the role

To design, develop and improve software, utilising various engineering methodologies, that provides business, platform, and technology capabilities for our customers and colleagues. 

Accountabilities

  • Development and delivery of high-quality software solutions by using industry aligned programming languages, frameworks, and tools. Ensuring that code is scalable, maintainable, and optimized for performance.
  • Cross-functional collaboration with product managers, designers, and other engineers to define software requirements, devise solution strategies, and ensure seamless integration and alignment with business objectives.
  • Collaboration with peers, participate in code reviews, and promote a culture of code quality and knowledge sharing.
  • Stay informed of industry technology trends and innovations and actively contribute to the organization’s technology communities to foster a culture of technical excellence and growth.
  • Adherence to secure coding practices to mitigate vulnerabilities, protect sensitive data, and ensure secure software solutions.
  • Implementation of effective unit testing practices to ensure proper code design, readability, and reliability.

To be successful as a "LIQ Java Developer", you should have experience with:

  Basic/ Essential Qualifications:

  • Good academic track record with Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science or similar. 

  • Proficiency in Java 11; 4+ years programming experience, reading, writing and debugging multi-threaded code, Rest Services. 

  • Min. 4+ years proven ability to work in a team environment with experience of the full Software Development Lifecycle.

Desirable skillsets/ good to have:

  • Good problem-solving skills. 

  • Clear and concise communication. 

  • Demonstrable understanding of Java, J2EE, Spring Framework and JDBC. 

  • Working knowledge of Rest Services / Microservices 

  • Working knowledge of ORM frameworks like JPA etc. 

  • Working knowledge of CI and unit test frameworks. 

  • Working knowledge of messaging platforms such as Kafka and related design patterns for producing and consuming messages.  

  • Working knowledge of XML/JSON and related technologies. 

  • Working knowledge of SQL and database technologies such as Oracle etc. 

  • Proven experience of Quality Assurance techniques relevant to application development. 

  • Experience working in an AGILE or SCRUM SDLC model. 

  • Ability to work within a global team. 

  • Familiar with DevOps fundamentals practices to follow CI/CD 

  • Aware of basic unix commands 

  • Good to have – knowledge of tools like Java Profilers and analysing memory dumps. 

  • Good to have – knowledge of No SQL – MongoDB 

  • Good to have – Knowledge of Lending products / SSI reference data setup.  

This role will be based out of Chennai.
