Department

You will be part of the Mining Services Business Line logistics team who are dedicated to handle spares / parts in assigned customer region. By joining this team, you will have the chance to work in a multinational organization and in an environment involving different cultures and different challenges.

Purpose of the role

This role is to lead small logistics team of Mining Services Business Line deliverables and guide the team to handle complex 
deliverables, ensuring compliance and contractual timeframe. Train the team to develop their functional skills and improve functional 
efficacy. Work for continuous improvement and manage multiple tasks and timelines. Associates and coordinate with other region 
stakeholders for smooth operations. Strong knowledge on Incoterms, HS Code Management, and packaging practices for deliveries

Your responsibilities

Logistics Planning: •

Plan and ensure availability of resources.

• Lead and guide small team (approx. 4-6 members).

• Acts as a “extended arm“ for SCM in order to optimize equipment delivery on site.

• Direct the movement, storage, or processing of inventory and select transportation routes to maximize efficiency.

• Determine shipping methods, sizing, load plan, routes, or rates for materials to be shipped.

• Negotiate prices and terms with suppliers/vendors.

• Analyse inventories to determine how to increase inventory turns, reduce waste.

• Implement new or improved supply chain processes and establish standard operating procedures.

• Ensure shipping activities are followed as per logistics regulations and statutory requirements.

• Develop forecasting plans to maintain enough inventory and coordinate the transportation or distribution of goods and services.

• Maintain schedules and verify goods reach their destination in a timely manner.

• Handles insurance issues regarding transportation to protect FLSmidth’s interests.

• Work with Suppliers and warehouse personnel to ensure shipments and cost targets are met.

Compliance and Documentation:

• Ensure availability various necessary statutory documents/ license/permits for import/export to country specific requirements.

• Follow up on customs tariff, trade restrictions, free trade (FTA/preferential tariff scheme).

• Monitor and followup up the team for deliveries to Customer as per plan.

• Ensures that the logistics tools implemented are monitored and updated.

Stakeholder Management:

• Associate with internal stake holders (sales/IOD, procurement &expediting) for freight RFQs, cost and to match delivery schedule.

• Have good relations with external agencies like Customs, Certifying agencies, Surveyors etc.

• Contact carrier representatives to address shortfalls and make arrangements for shipping and delivery of materials.

• Participates in the necessary export control procedure to secure that this is conducted according to legislation.

• Support change management efforts related to our categories, and stakeholder

What you bring

1.Should have prior experience & knowledge in handling shipping documentation & Logistics regulations.
2. Knowledge in MS-Excel/ Word proficiency is essential.
3. Knowledge in ERP system will be an added advantage.
4. Should have proficient verbal and written communication skills in English.
5. Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships.
6. Good planning and organizing skills for prioritizing many concurrent tasks.
7. Good team lead.
