Job Description: Mechanical Engineer

Location: Chennai, India

Qualification

Bachelors / master’s in engineering – Mechanical engineering with 10 -15 years’ experience in motor or Generator industry.

Software Knowledge

SAP & Teamcenter, Basics of Microsoft Office tools

 Key Responsibilities:

• BOM preparation in SAP and Teamcenter for windings& other mechanical / electrical items.
• To work independently on development/localization activities of Wind Generator and its parts.
• To work on Teamcenter and NX -Regular/Global Engineering Tasks received from HQ.
• Technical Support to Production, Test field, Sales, Procurement and Quality management.
• To work on Design to cost Project, Engineering change management.
• Handling development team of both electrical & mechanical team in NPD of DFIG.
• Lead the Engineering Team of Generators and ramp-up the team to a significantly stronger and bigger team in collaboration with Headquarters

Technical support Technical Skills required:

• General mechanical electrical engineering, esp. for electric motors or generators
• Winding design or technology expert
• Induction Motor/ Generator expert. Should have knowledge on Motor or Wind Generator components as per IEC standards.
• Should have worked the design of Motor/Wind Generator.
• Should provide technical support to development of stator and rotor core & windings for motor/Generator.
• Knowledge of complete development of DFIG will be prerequisite.
• Direct drive knowledge and Mid speed Generator knowledge will be added advantage.

• Excellent communication skills (written & verbal) in English must be able to present complex technical topics in a clear and structured way.
