Manager - Operations (Outbound Logistics)

• Logistics Coordination:
  • Oversee the scheduling and routing of vehicles to ensure timely and cost-effective deliveries.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to ensure smooth transportation operations.
• Fleet & Vehicle Management:
  • Monitor and manage the fleet, ensuring all vehicles are properly maintained and compliant with industry standards.
  • Oversee vehicle scheduling for repairs, inspections, and upgrades to minimize downtime and maximize efficiency.
• Yard Operations:
  • Manage the day-to-day operations within the yard, ensuring vehicles are parked, loaded, and unloaded efficiently.
  • Organize yard space to ensure optimal utilization and easy access to vehicles and equipment.
  • Implement safety protocols to prevent accidents and ensure a safe work environment for all personnel.
• Team Leadership:
  • Lead, train, and manage logistics personnel, including drivers and yard staff.
  • Ensure teams are equipped with the knowledge and tools needed to perform tasks effectively.
  • Develop and track performance metrics to monitor individual and team efficiency.
• Inventory & Asset Management:
  • Maintain accurate records of vehicles, equipment, and goods in the yard, ensuring all assets are accounted for.
  • Oversee inventory control processes to streamline yard operations and avoid inefficiencies.
• Data Management & Reporting:
  • Analyze operational data to identify opportunities for improvement in logistics, vehicle utilization, and yard operations.
  • Provide regular reports on performance, costs, and key operational metrics to senior management.
• Compliance & Risk Management:
  • Ensure all logistics activities comply with relevant regulations, including safety, environmental, and transportation laws.
  • Mitigate operational risks, including vehicle damages, delays, and safety violations.
• Customer Satisfaction:
  • Maintain a high level of customer satisfaction by ensuring timely, safe, and accurate delivery of goods.
  • Handle any customer issues or delays efficiently and professionally

Skills & Qualifications:

• Proven experience in logistics or transportation management, preferably in the commercial vehicle industry.
• Strong understanding of fleet management, yard operations, and logistics software.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
• Knowledge of industry regulations and safety standards.
• Ability to analyze data and make data-driven decisions.
• Bachelor's degree in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field (preferred).
