This role works closely with Inbound Supply Chain, Merchandising, Sourcing, and supplier partners—driving standardization, network optimization, data-driven decisions, and continuous process improvement.

This position does not have direct reports, but it requires leadership through influence—coordinating across multiple internal and external stakeholders to achieve measurable results in supplier performance, compliance, network optimization and process efficiency. The Manager executes enterprise initiatives under the direction of Senior Management, ensuring alignment to Sysco’s strategic priorities and service-level objectives.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Supplier Integration & Performance

  • Lead end-to-end supplier onboarding and integration processes across Sysco’s network.

  • Partner with Sourcing, Category Management, and Supply Chain teams to ensure seamless supplier transitions, compliance, and service-level adherence.

  • Collaborate with suppliers to realize inbound supply chain efficiency and deliver lowest net landed cost solutions.

  • Manage and resolve escalated supplier issues using root-cause analysis and structured problem-solving.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration & Change Adoption

  • Partner with Supply Chain, Merchandising, Sourcing, and Logistics teams to align goals, resolve issues, and improve enterprise coordination.

  • Facilitate regular touchpoints with cross-functional partners to review metrics, highlight risks, and drive accountability.

  • Champion adoption of new systems, tools, and standardized processes by engaging stakeholders, gathering feedback, and promoting continuous learning.

  • Support leadership with presentations, dashboards, and project summaries.

  • Process Improvement & Efficiency

  • Identify and implement process enhancements to improve supplier onboarding, communication flow, and operational efficiency.

  • Standardize best practices across integration processes to eliminate redundancy and reduce cycle times.

  • Lead or support continuous improvement projects leveraging Lean or Six Sigma principles.

  • Identify opportunities that improve service reliability while optimizing inventory investment and cost-to-serve.

  • Metrics, Reporting & Performance Management

  • Develop and track key performance indicators (KPIs) such as logistics earned income, supplier fill rate, pre-ship service level, net landed cost improvement, and cycle-time efficiency.

  • Analyze data to identify trends, performance gaps, and network efficiency opportunities.

  • Support leadership in performance reviews by providing actionable insights and reporting on key supply management metrics.

  • Leverage dashboards and reporting tools (e.g., Pulse, SIM360) to translate complex data into meaningful business insights.

  • Project & Stakeholder Management

  • Manage multiple concurrent workstreams, ensuring timelines, deliverables, and stakeholder expectations are met.

  • Contribute to strategic initiatives that enhance Sysco’s supplier performance and integration capabilities.

  • Document and communicate project outcomes, lessons learned, and recommendations.

  • Ensure all supplier integration and performance processes comply with Sysco’s policies, data governance standards, and audit requirements.

QUALIFICATIONS

Required Minimum Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, Industrial Distribution, Business, or related field preferred; an equivalent combination of education, training, and relevant work experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.

Experience

  • Minimum 5 years of progressive supply chain or supplier management experience.

  • Experience leading process improvement or efficiency projects preferred.

  • Proven experience influencing cross-functional teams and managing stakeholder relationships without direct authority.

Professional Skills

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities with demonstrated data literacy.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and data visualization/reporting tools such as Power BI or Tableau.

  • Experience with enterprise supply chain systems (e.g., SIM360, SAP, or Pulse) preferred.

  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills.

What you need to know about the Chennai Tech Scene

To locals, it's no secret that South India is leading the charge in big data infrastructure. While the environmental impact of data centers has long been a concern, emerging hubs like Chennai are favored by companies seeking ready access to renewable energy resources, which provide more sustainable and cost-effective solutions. As a result, Chennai, along with neighboring Bengaluru and Hyderabad, is poised for significant growth, with a projected 65 percent increase in data center capacity over the next decade.
