What you will do:
- Provide technical leadership for end-to-end system verification of 5G features, shaping verification priorities from feature readiness to release in alignment with business strategy and customer outcomes
- Act as a technical specialist in system performance analysis using logs, traces, and KPIs such as throughput, latency, resource utilization, and QoS/QoE indicators to identify systemic bottlenecks and drive product-level improvements.
- Lead complex, cross-layer investigations across PHY, MAC, RLC, PDCP, and IP, applying advanced root-cause analysis to resolve complex performance and capacity issues.
- Perform requirement analysis for feature integration and verification to ensure alignment with customer expectations and network performance objectives.
- Perform capacity and performance verification of RAN systems under high-load traffic scenarios comprising Max supported UEs per cell/DU, throughput (DL/UL), control plane capacity and mobility under load.
- Establish verification methodologies and quality standards that represent live network scenarios and provide coverage for performance, capacity, Stability and customer experience.
- Provide technical direction, coaching, and mentorship to verification engineers and contribute to the development of organizational competence in modern (AI) system verification practices.
- Drive continuous improvement of products, verification frameworks, test coverage, automation, CI/CD pipelines, and AI-assisted verification practices, improving efficiency, quality, and time to market.
- Lead collaboration across RAN development, integration/CI, product management and other stakeholders organization to resolve issues and secure high-quality deliveries.
- Lead customer trials and field issue reproduction, move quickly from symptoms to root cause and provide clear defect reports with actionable next steps.
The skills you bring
- Bachelor's or Master's in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent experience.
- 8 - 12+ years of hands-on experience in system-level verification, deployment, integration, and troubleshooting of LTE/5G NR baseband and radio systems, including demonstrated technical leadership.
- Strong understanding of wireless communication systems (LTE/5G NR), RAN architecture and protocol stack, and 5G NR air-interface technologies.
- Demonstrated experience analyzing and troubleshooting performance issues at PHY/MAC layer, including link curve verification, channel-quality assessment, and evaluation under diverse and adverse channel conditions.
- Deep expertise of system level KPIs (throughput, latency, resource load, QoS/QoE) and the ability to identify performance bottlenecks.
- Experience working with Channel emulators, fading technologies, traffic generation and test tools (for example UE simulators, Viavi, real UEs).
- Advanced Linux skills and solid knowledge of IP routing, switching, and networking.
- Demonstrated success in influencing product, architecture, and release decisions through data-driven verification insights and technical judgment.
- Programming, automation, and scripting skills (for example Python, Bash, Java) and solid understanding of CI/CD concepts.
- Experience with configuration management and automation tools (for example Git, Gerrit, Jenkins) in a modern development and integration environment.
- Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills with a focus on verification improvements and innovation.
- Demonstrated customer focus, including experience supporting customer trials, reproducing field issues and assessing risk.
Nice to have:
- Exposure to Cloud-Native RAN, O-RAN Architecture.
- Experience with commercial UE chipset platform testing (Qualcomm, MediaTek etc) and end-to-end performance validation.
- Knowledge of cloud-native principles, containerization, and microservices-based architectures.
- Familiarity with AI/ML tooling for test analytics and anomaly detection.
- Software development skills, particularly in Java and Python.
