This role involves reviewing and processing bankruptcy notifications, and updates, received from approved vendors or mail, coding accounts as bankrupt in the appropriate system of record, and excluding them from collection activities to prevent violations of the automatic stay.
  • The Associate researches and resolves match criteria exclusions, manages manual coding for exceptions, and monitors joint filings and community property cases. Additional duties include quality assurance reviews, maintaining accurate documentation, collaborating with attorneys and account holders, and supporting compliance through regular training and adherence to procedural controls.

  • Claims are filed electronically (ECF/PACER) or manually, depending on court requirements. Special handling is required for certain jurisdictions and product types.
  • Claims can be amended or withdrawn for valid reasons (e.g., errors, payments, jurisdictional issues), but require management/designee approval.
