Job Description

Purpose of the role

To support business areas with day-to-day processing, reviewing, reporting, trading and issue resolution. 

Accountabilities

  • Support various business areas with day-to-day initiatives including processing, reviewing, reporting, trading, and issue resolution.

  • Collaboration with teams across the bank to align and integrate operational processes.

  • Identification of areas for improvement and providing recommendations in operational processes.

  • Development and implementation of operational procedures and controls to mitigate risks and maintain operational efficiency.

  • Development of reports and presentations on operational performance and communicate findings to internal senior stakeholders.

  • Identification of industry trends and developments to implement best practice in banking operations.

  • Participation in projects and initiatives to improve operational efficiency and effectiveness.

Step into the role of PB Payments at Barclays, where you'll provide first-class support by conducting in-depth due diligence, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and safeguarding our clients and organization with expertise and care.

 

You may be assessed on key critical skills relevant for success in role such as:

  • Understanding of terms in payment related activities end to end to ensure facilitating various payments to Global Prime brokerage clients accurately.

  • Daily management of  payment and exception ques and ensuring completion in line with market CCY Cut offs.

  •  Work on complex client requests, analyse and provide proposal to the business in terms of payment services.

  • Liaise with the Client, Desk, Sales team, CSR, Support teams, and other departments to resolve Client payment queries.

  • Understanding of industry standard SWIFT and standard settlement instructions end to end is must.

  • Prior experience of having payment service background is preferred.

  • Contribute to the specification and testing of improvements for all systems and processes.

  • Uphold the controls and procedures for the team, review and update, as necessary.

  • Cross train on all functions performed within the team and across the department.

  • Manage front to end process of team.

  • Provide the best possible service to both our internal and external clients.

  • Uphold the controls and procedures for the team and highlight any control gaps identified to management to ensure that these are reviewed and addressed as necessary.

  • Contribute to process improvements within the team to drive efficiency and cost savings.

  • Suggest innovative solutions to improve efficiency and provide the AVP/VP with a detailed breakdown to quantify the time/ headcount savings from the initiative.

Desirable Skillsets:

  • Degree level or appropriate industry qualification.

  • Understanding of industry standard SWIFT and standard settlement instructions end to end is must.

  • Good knowledge of Investment Banking, industry and business fundamentals

  • Good knowledge of end to end payment process.

  •  Well organised with good time management skills and the ability to meet tight deadlines and prioritise tasks.

  • Able to work effectively as part of a large team.

  • Willing to take on responsibility.

  • Detailed and meticulous, consistently delivering a high level of accuracy and attention to detail with high quality output.

  • Excellent command of the English language, verbal & written.
