We are looking for a Perl Developer to join our engineering team and help us develop and maintain various software products. Perl Developer responsibilities include writing and testing code, debugging programs and integrating applications with third-party web services. To be successful in this role, you should have experience using server-side logic and work well in a team. Ultimately, you’ll build highly responsive web applications that align with our business needs.


RequirementsBackend Development (Primary Focus)
  • Develop, maintain, and optimize server-side applications in Perl.
  • Work extensively with CPAN modules and common Perl frameworks such as:
    • Catalyst
    • DBIx::Class
    • Plack (PSGI)
    • Template Toolkit (TT)
    • Moose
  • Build scalable architectures and contribute to design discussions.
Frontend & Client-Side Development
  • Develop and enhance client-side functionality using JavaScript.
  • Collaborate with backend services to create seamless UI/UX interactions.
Database & SQL Work
  • Write efficient SQL queries and work with relational databases:
    • PostgreSQL
    • MySQL
  • Perform schema design, optimization, indexing, and troubleshooting.
System & Version Control
  • Work with Git for version control (branching, merging, code reviews).
  • Deploy, debug, and monitor applications in a Linux environment.
Troubleshooting & Performance Optimization
  • Investigate, diagnose, and resolve complex technical issues across the stack.
  • Identify opportunities for improving application performance, stability, and maintainability.
Code Quality & Testing
  • Write unit tests using Perl and JavaScript testing frameworks.
  • Refactor legacy codebases to improve structure, readability, and performance.
  • Follow best practices, coding standards, and documentation processes.
Collaboration & Agile Practices
  • Work with cross-functional teams including product, test, and DevOps.
  • Participate in sprint planning, stand-ups, code reviews, and retrospectives.
  • Switch contexts effectively while handling multiple feature requests and support tasks.
Required Skills & ExperienceTechnical Expertise
  • Strong experience in Perl server-side development.
  • Deep understanding of CPAN, Catalyst, DBIx::Class, Moose, Plack (PSGI), and Template Toolkit.
  • Hands-on experience in JavaScript.
  • Strong SQL expertise and familiarity with PostgreSQL / MySQL.
  • Experience with Git version control workflows.
  • Solid debugging, problem analysis, and troubleshooting skills.
  • Comfortable working in Linux-based environments.
