About the role

As a FinOps Engineer, you will be responsible for managing and optimizing our cloud spend. You will be reporting to Head of FinOps and work closely with VP of Technology Strategy, engineering leaders in the organisation. You will be responsible for reporting cloud cost consumption and bring financial transparency across our cloud services. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, hands-on experience with AWS cloud platforms, and a solid understanding of FinOps principles.

Responsibilities

  • Work directly with various engineering, products and finance teams
  • Strong understanding of FinOps governance, tooling and cost reporting including unit cost calculations.
  • Close collaboration with different external public cloud providers to manage hosting costs.
  • Establish principes on cost visibility reports and dashboards using cloud native and third-party tools.
  • Implement and monitor cost anomaly in complex architecture in a large-scale deployment.
  • Work with financial teams on production-related budgets and forecasts.
  • Create financial models to calculate TCO of new products/projects.
  • Partner with the development, support and DevOps and Info Sec teams to encourage financial responsibility.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in cloud cost optimization and FinOps methodologies.

Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of experience as a Cloud FinOps Engineer
  • A cloud engineer with a strong knowledge of public Cloud Operating Model, Observability, Cloud infrastructure, Networking Architecture, Containers and Microservices 
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field.
  • AWS Solutions Architect Associate certification preferred.
  • FinOps Certified Engineer or Practitioner – Desirable.
