Are you a seasoned Full Stack Principal Engineer ready to shape the future of enterprise software? At HBK, we’re looking for a hands-on leader to drive architecture, development, and roadmap delivery across our next-generation digital products.

As a Principal Engineer, you'll drive the complete product lifecycle, combining hands-on full stack development with technical strategy, scalable system design, data modeling, and roadmap delivery.
You'll align engineering execution with business priorities while remaining deeply hands-on in development using technologies like Java, Angular, and modern cloud-native environments, and mentoring a high-performing team.

Responsibilities:

Core Development and Technology:

  • Lead the full-stack architecture, design, development, and deployment of enterprise applications, primarily using Angular and Java Spring Boot, while remaining adaptable to other modern technologies as needed.

  • Drive innovation and efficiency by utilizing modern, cloud-native technologies in the development and deployment of our products.

  • Drive end-to-end product development in a SAFe Agile environment, emphasizing rapid delivery of value to customers through practices like pair programming, PR reviews, TDD, and Continuous Integration/Delivery (CI/CD).

  • Ensure the seamless integration and adoption of the HBK Design Systems approach to consistently enhance UX/UI standards across all products.

  • Ensure built-in quality across software products by conducting relevant unit, component, functional, and non-functional testing, in harmony with DevOps practices and adhering to Test-Driven Development (TDD) principles.

  • Provide technical guidance for solution development and integration, ensuring compliance with relevant strategies, standards, and security practices. Contribute to roadmaps and identify areas for improvement or synergy.

Product & Roadmap Leadership:

  • Work closely with product managers and business stakeholders to develop and evolve the product’s technology roadmap, ensuring long-term scalability and innovation.

  • Contribute to technical product ownership, bringing engineering insights into strategic product discussions and influencing feature prioritization.

  • Balance tech debt and innovation while delivering business value.

Technical Product Leadership and Mentorship

  • Act as a technical product leader, guiding the engineering team on architecture, design decisions, and delivery best practices aligned with the product roadmap.

  • Provide deep technical mentorship and be a go-to expert for solving complex architectural or engineering challenges.

  • Translate product vision into technical execution plans, collaborating closely with Product Owners and Designers to ensure feasibility, scalability, and performance.

  • Champion engineering excellence by enforcing modern coding standards and architectural best practices, while fostering a learning-driven culture through code reviews, technical mentorship, and knowledge sharing.

  • Support onboarding of new engineers into the codebase, architecture, and tooling, ensuring fast ramp-up through hands-on guidance and pairing.

Stakeholder Collaboration and Product Alignment:

  • Manage relationships and communicate effectively with stakeholders to align technology solutions with business goals.

  • Influence and shape the product roadmap by contributing technical insights on feasibility, performance, scalability, and long-term maintenance.

  • Communicate technical decisions, trade-offs, and risks clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

  • Act as a bridge between business goals and engineering execution, ensuring consistent delivery of customer value through technical excellence.

Must-Have Requirements:

  • Undergraduate degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience in enterprise software product development.

  • Minimum 8+ years of experience designing, developing, and scaling enterprise-grade full stack applications.

  • Strong full stack expertise, including:

  • Frontend: Angular, TypeScript, modern UI/UX practices, design systems.

  • Backend: Java, Spring Boot, REST APIs, microservices architecture.

  • Proven experience in technical architecture, solution design, and system integration for scalable platforms.

  • Demonstrated ability to translate product goals into technical solutions, contributing directly to product and technology roadmaps.

  • Experience working in Agile/SAFe environments with a strong grasp of TDD, CI/CD, DevOps, and automated testing.

  • Ability to mentor engineers technically, lead design reviews, and guide teams through complex engineering challenges.

  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to clearly articulate technical concepts to cross-functional stakeholders and influence decision-making.
