OVERVIEW:  

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated UX Writer to join our team and contribute to the development of user assistance, help documentation, and implementation playbooks. As a UX Writer, you will be responsible for creating clear, concise, and user-friendly documentation that helps our customers understand and effectively use our Percipio learning platform. You will collaborate closely with subject matter experts, product managers, and development teams to gather information and ensure the accuracy and comprehensiveness of the documentation. This position will work with other UX writers across our matrixed organization to develop and maintain documentation tools, style guides and best practices. 

 

OPPORTUNITY HIGHLIGHTS:  

  • Create and maintain user assistance materials, including: 

  • in-app user assistance 

  • knowledge base articles  

  • internal and external playbooks  

  • FAQs 

  • Develop comprehensive help documentation that explains the features, functionalities, and processes of the platform to assist users in administering, configuring, and integrating the system. 

  • Collaborate with subject matter experts, product managers, and development teams to gather information and ensure accuracy, clarity, and completeness of the documentation. 

  • Transform complex technical information into user-friendly and easily understandable language. 

  • Conduct thorough research to understand user requirements, pain points, and best practices in technical writing to continuously improve the quality and effectiveness of the documentation. 

  • Revise and update existing documentation to reflect changes in the platform, new features, or user feedback. 

  • Ensure consistent formatting, style, and tone across all documentation to maintain a cohesive and professional brand image. 

  • Conduct usability testing and gather user feedback to identify areas for improvement and enhance the user experience of the documentation. 

  • Stay up to date with industry trends, technological advancements, and best practices in technical writing to incorporate them into our documentation strategy.  

  • Work with other teams to implement new tools and upgrades to our documentation infrastructure. 

 

​SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:  

  • Minimum 8 years’ experience writing technical documentation for software products 

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and subject matter experts  

  • Demonstrated ability to quickly grasp and understand technical concepts and explain them to non-technical audiences  

  • Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills, with a keen eye for detail and ability to communicate complex concepts in a clear and concise manner.  

  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a remote or virtual team environment, taking ownership of projects and delivering results with minimal supervision.  

  • Strong self-direction and time management skills, with the ability to work independently and proactively prioritize tasks to meet deadlines. 

  • Proficiency with a variety of software applications and technologies to include: 

  • Microsoft Office applications 

  • Help authoring software such as MadCap Flare, AuthorIT 

  • Swagger, GitHub 

  • User assistance and analytics software such as Pendo and WalkMe 

  • HTML, CSS 

  • Graphics software such as Photoshop, SnagIt, Camtasia 

  • Video editing and production 

  • Understanding of structured authoring and principles of content management 

  • BS/BA degree in Technical Communication, English, or related field 

  • Ability to quickly learn new software applications and business processes 

 

Desired Experience: 

  • Experience with Agile methodologies 

  • Experience with marketing communications 

  • Experience in Education or Corporate Training a plus  

  • Experience documenting B2B software solutions a plus  

  • Experience with writing API documentation a plus
