The Procurement and Sourcing Specialist is responsible for managing the procurement process, ensuring that goods and services are acquired at the best value, quality, and terms, while maintaining compliance with organizational policies. The role includes sourcing suppliers, negotiating contracts, and collaborating with internal departments to meet the organization's needs.
Key Responsibilities:
Sourcing & Supplier Management:
- Identify and evaluate potential suppliers and manufacturers through market research and industry analysis.
- Establish and maintain relationships with key suppliers and vendors, ensuring quality, cost-effectiveness, and timely delivery of goods/services.
- Negotiate pricing, terms, and contracts with suppliers, ensuring alignment with company goals and budget.
- Monitor supplier performance and manage ongoing supplier relationships.
- Develop and implement sourcing strategies to meet business requirements and optimize procurement activities.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand procurement needs and ensure timely fulfilment.
- Maintain a balanced inventory of materials, services, and products to avoid stockouts or excessive inventory.
- Ensure compliance with procurement policies and ethical sourcing practices.
- Draft and manage contracts, ensuring clarity on terms, pricing, delivery schedules, and warranties.
- Oversee the renewal, amendment, and termination of contracts as necessary.
- Ensure contracts are compliant with legal and regulatory requirements.
- Support budget creation by providing accurate procurement forecasts and projections.
- Monitor expenditures and implement cost-saving measures where possible, without compromising quality.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and cost efficiencies.
- Own and deliver measurable cost savings and value realization targets aligned with company financial goals.
- Stay informed of industry trends, new products, and market developments to enhance procurement strategies.
- Conduct regular market research to assess pricing trends and supply chain dynamics.
- Provide insights on potential risks and market changes affecting procurement activities.
- Leverage procurement analytics and dashboards to generate insights.
- Maintain accurate records of procurement transactions, supplier communications, and agreements.
- Prepare regular procurement reports on key performance indicators (KPIs), supplier performance, and cost savings.
- Implement vendor risk management frameworks.
- Ensure all procurement processes are well-documented for audit and compliance purposes.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Procurement, or a related field. Master’s degree is a plus.
- Minimum 10 years of experience in procurement, sourcing, or supply chain management.
- Strong negotiation and communication skills.
- Experience with procurement software and tools (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Ariba) and IT hardware and infra.
- Knowledge of procurement regulations, industry standards, and best practices.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and trends.
- Strong organizational and project management skills.
