Role Summary

EQ Retirement Solutions are looking for a Procurement Manager within their Procurement function.
The main purpose of the role is to deliver savings, value, innovation and compliance across procurement activities, providing strategic sourcing, supplier management and commercial support while partnering closely with business stakeholders.

Core Duties/Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for the following:

  • Leading sourcing and tendering activity to drive commercial, operational and strategic objectives
  • Developing category strategies and delivering procurement projects end‑to‑end
  • Managing supplier relationships, performance, quality and risk
  • Supporting contract negotiations, renewals, variations and ongoing governance
  • Providing commercial insight and market intelligence to support decision‑making
  • Ensuring procurement activity aligns with policy, compliance and regulatory obligations
  • Partnering with stakeholders to understand business needs and deliver optimal outcomes
  • Delivering savings, value and cost‑avoidance through strategic procurement initiatives
  • Managing supplier onboarding and ensuring controls are met
  • Producing tender documentation and managing competitive processes
  • Maintaining accurate procurement records, reports and contract register data
  • Supporting process improvement across procurement and supplier management
  • Ensuring effective communication and collaboration across Procurement and the wider business
  • Contributing to the delivery of procurement objectives and team development activities

Skills, Capabilities and Attributes

The ideal candidate will have the below skills, capabilities and attributes essential or preferred. Strong knowledge of procurement governance, compliance, and contract law.

  • Strong experience in strategic sourcing, category management or procurement delivery
  • Ability to manage multiple procurement projects simultaneously
  • Strong stakeholder engagement, influencing and negotiation skills
  • Proven experience in supplier performance management and risk management
  • Commercial acumen with ability to interpret financial and contractual information
  • Experience running tenders, RFx processes and sourcing activities
  • Knowledge of procurement best practice, frameworks and governance
  • Strong analytical skills with ability to interpret data and insights
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to work collaboratively across teams and functions
  • Experience in regulated environments (preferred)
  • Proactive mindset with ability to take ownership and drive initiatives
  • MCIPS qualified or working towards (preferred)
