About the role

Project Manager

The Energy Solutions team at AGL leads the delivery of innovative energy projects—including solar, storage, lighting, and virtual power plants—for Australia’s business sector. As a Project Manager, you’ll oversee projects from sale to handover, ensuring safe, timely, and high-quality execution that meets customer expectations and drives profitability. You’ll manage stakeholder relationships, maintain project documentation, and serve as the primary customer interface post-sale, delivering exceptional service. Working autonomously or under senior guidance, you’ll handle medium-complexity projects, coach Project Associates, and contribute to a collaborative, high-performing team.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Lead the delivery of energy projects from sale to handover, ensuring safety, quality, and profitability.

  • Manage stakeholder relationships, including customers, contractors, consultants, and internal teams.

  • Develop and maintain project plans, budgets, schedules, and communication strategies.

  • Ensure compliance with HSE policies and conduct audits, incident investigations, and site meetings.

  • Drive financial performance, identifying cost-saving opportunities and managing budgets.

  • Oversee contractor engagement, construction schedules, and quality assurance.

  • Use systems like NetSuite and Procore to maintain accurate project data and documentation.

  • Coach and support junior team members and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

What we’re looking for:

  • Tenured experience in project management or engineering roles.

  • Bachelor’s degree in project management, engineering, or construction management.

  • Strong stakeholder and contractor management skills.

  • Excellent communication, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety.

  • Knowledge of electrical and PV industry regulations.

  • Ability to work independently, including in remote locations.

  • Construction Induction Training (White Card).

Preferred:

  • Working at Heights qualification.

  • Experience working for a major industrial and commercial rooftop solar installation provider.

  • Knowledge of the software systems Energy Solutions uses to manage its business (NetSuite, Procore).

At AGL, we offer a wide range of benefits including:

  • Flexible working options including hybrid work.

  • Discounts on energy, telcos and solar plans.

  • Participate in Energise - our reward & recognition program.

  • Access 20 weeks of paid parental leave for the primary carer.

  • Access to an additional week of recharge leave per year.

  • Play an active role in our diversity & inclusion initiatives.

  • Novated leasing and Electric Vehicle subscriptions.

  • Access to study assistance, AGL’s share purchase plan and insurance deals.

*Benefits may change over time and vary based on role type and location.

What you need to know about the Chennai Tech Scene

To locals, it's no secret that South India is leading the charge in big data infrastructure. While the environmental impact of data centers has long been a concern, emerging hubs like Chennai are favored by companies seeking ready access to renewable energy resources, which provide more sustainable and cost-effective solutions. As a result, Chennai, along with neighboring Bengaluru and Hyderabad, is poised for significant growth, with a projected 65 percent increase in data center capacity over the next decade.
