We are looking for a skilled Automation Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in test automation frameworks, scripting, and continuous integration practices. You will play a key role in ensuring software quality by developing automated tests, improving test strategies, and working closely with developers and QA teams.

Responsibilities
- Take ownership of assigned features or test areas end to end.
- Understand requirements, ask clarifying questions, and identify test scenarios independently.
- Design and execute manual test cases and report defects with clear reproduction steps and evidence.
- Develop and maintain automated test scripts for: web applications, Mobile applications using Appium (Android / iOS), Backend / API testing
- Perform API and backend validations (status codes, payloads, contracts, basic data checks).
- Ensure regression coverage for owned features and proactively highlight quality risks.
- Track, follow up, and validate defect fixes using JIRA or similar tools.
- Use AI-assisted tools (Cursor, Copilot, ChatGPT, etc.) to improve productivity while applying QA judgment.
- Continuously improve test coverage, test quality, and personal technical skills.
- Communicate testing status, risks, and blockers clearly to the team.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 1–4 years of experience in software testing (manual + automation).
- Strong understanding of testing fundamentals (SDLC, STLC, defect lifecycle).
- Hands-on experience with web automation tools (Selenium / Cypress / Playwright).
- Experience with mobile automation using Appium.
- Experience with API / backend testing using tools like Postman or similar.
- Working knowledge of one programming or scripting language (Java / Python / JavaScript).
- Understanding of HTTP methods, JSON, and API validation basics.
- Familiarity with Git or any version control system.
- Exposure to AI-assisted coding/testing tools (Cursor, Copilot, ChatGPT, etc.).
- Strong sense of ownership, accountability, and curiosity.
- Good communication skills and ability to work independently.
Nice to Have (Optional)
- Exposure to CI/CD pipelines.
- Basic SQL knowledge.
- ISTQB Foundation certification.
- Experience testing mobile apps on real devices.
