The opportunity:

How you’ll make an impact:

  • Demonstrate your technical expertise by undertaking a variety of engineering assignments within projects. You will showcase your independent problem-solving skills and contribute to ongoing scientific discussions in your area.

  • Run, within the dielectrics field, feasibility studies propose, and develop new technical concepts, design new products, and simulate their expected performance.

  • Provide technical support to factories in different stages of customer project execution such as design clarification and simulation as well as dielectric and insulation design.

  • Conduct feasibility studies, develop technical concepts, design new products, and simulate their performance.

  • Have a global collaboration with scientists of Hitachi energy’s research teams, technology centers, technology managers and engineers from the various factories.

  • Lead the implementation of new functionality in transformer insulation design tools. Create technical requirements, support software developers in implementation and test the quality of the solutions.

  • Formulate clear conclusions and practical recommendations for the business. Transfer your knowledge and findings by elaborating reports, specifications and/or participating in educational programs.

  • Contribute to product and technology development projects, ensuring timely and budget-compliant delivery.

  • Develop, manage and expand relationships with stakeholders, internal functions, Corporate Research Centers and external relevant parties (e.g. customers, universities). Providing proposals for possible partnerships.

  • Serve as a valuable project member and, as a potential project or sub-project leader, ensure alignment with goals in time, cost, and quality. Coordinate activities with a strong grasp of processes and tools.

  • Actively participate in engineering networks to enrich your expertise and visibility within your targeted area. Recognize the importance of intellectual property to our business, engage in IP discussions, prepare project clearance reports, and identify risks in projects.

  • Responsible to ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.

Your Background:

  • B. Tech or BE or ME or M.Tech or MS or PhD Engineer in EEE or High Voltage Engineering or Power System Engineering.

  • 4 to 10 years of proven experience on using simulation tools (Ansys, Elecnet, COMSOL etc..) and preferably have experience in designing and FEM based simulations.

  • Expertise in characterizing and modeling the dielectric properties of various materials, including permittivity, permeability, and loss tangent. 

  • Deep understanding of insulation design. Knowledge of CAD modelling software (CREO).

  • Excellent abilities in teamwork in international teams with excellent interpersonal skills. Solid understanding of the standard body of knowledge in the relevant technical field and solid technical proficiency.

  • Experience with project management tools and models, both Agile and traditional. Willing to work in remote and diverse environments.

  • Willingness to travel to factories when needed. Most important for this role is your personality and your willingness to learn and explore new areas. Excellent teamwork and collaboration skills are crucial to succeed.

  • Proficiency in both verbal and written communication skills in English.
