As a Salesforce Developer, you will be responsible for developing customized Salesforce applications, building integrations, and maintaining reliable, high-performing systems that support business operations and GTM automation. You will work closely with Salesforce administrators, solution architects, and business stakeholders to translate requirements into effective technical solutions.

The role also involves managing source code through GitHub, supporting Salesforce-connected services hosted on Heroku, monitoring integrations using DataDog, and ensuring code quality through unit testing, code reviews, and established deployment practices. The ideal candidate should be comfortable troubleshooting production issues and continuously improving Salesforce solutions.

RequirementsKey Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, test, and maintain custom Salesforce solutions using Apex classes, triggers, batch Apex, schedulable Apex, and asynchronous processing.
  • Build and maintain Lightning Web Components (LWC) and support existing Lightning or Aura components where required.
  • Develop and manage integrations between Salesforce and third-party applications using Workato, REST/SOAP APIs, platform events, and other integration technologies.
  • Manage source code using GitHub, including branching strategies, pull requests, code reviews, and version control best practices.
  • Support and monitor Heroku-hosted applications and services integrated with Salesforce.
  • Use DataDog or similar monitoring tools to track integration performance, troubleshoot errors, and resolve production issues.
  • Collaborate with administrators, architects, and business stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver scalable technical solutions.
  • Write and maintain unit tests, ensure appropriate code coverage, and follow Salesforce development and testing best practices.
  • Implement and maintain deployment processes using tools such as Salesforce CLI, Salesforce DX, Gearset, or Copado.
  • Apply Salesforce security best practices, including profiles, permission sets, sharing rules, and field-level security.
  • Evaluate Salesforce declarative tools such as Flow and determine when configuration or custom code is the most appropriate solution.
  • Stay updated with Salesforce platform releases, new features, and development standards to recommend improvements.
What Makes You a Great Fit?
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 3–5 years of hands-on experience in Salesforce development.
  • Strong proficiency in Apex, including classes, triggers, batch and schedulable Apex, and asynchronous processing.
  • Practical experience developing Lightning Web Components (LWC); familiarity with Aura components is an advantage.
  • Solid understanding of the Salesforce data model, SOQL/SOSL queries, governor limits, and platform architecture.
  • Experience integrating Salesforce with external systems using REST/SOAP APIs, middleware platforms, or platform events. Workato experience is strongly preferred.
  • Good understanding of Salesforce security, access controls, profiles, permission sets, sharing rules, and field-level security.
  • Hands-on experience with Git/GitHub, version control, code reviews, and CI/CD deployment tools such as Gearset, Copado, or Salesforce CLI.
  • Familiarity with Salesforce Flow and other declarative automation tools, including the ability to choose between declarative and programmatic solutions.
  • Strong understanding of unit testing, code coverage requirements, debugging, and software development best practices.
  • Experience with Heroku, DataDog, Sales Cloud, or Service Cloud is an added advantage.
  • Salesforce Platform Developer I certification is preferred; Platform Developer II certification is a plus.
  • Familiarity with Salesforce DX, scratch orgs, and Agile/Scrum methodologies is desirable.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills, with the ability to work independently in a remote environment.

What you need to know about the Chennai Tech Scene

To locals, it's no secret that South India is leading the charge in big data infrastructure. While the environmental impact of data centers has long been a concern, emerging hubs like Chennai are favored by companies seeking ready access to renewable energy resources, which provide more sustainable and cost-effective solutions. As a result, Chennai, along with neighboring Bengaluru and Hyderabad, is poised for significant growth, with a projected 65 percent increase in data center capacity over the next decade.
