Join us as a Senior Application Engineer, where you'll build and deploy web-based applications on the Appian platform, tailored to help automate our business and bolster our business strategy. This role is based at our Chennai Office. Appian was built on a culture of in-person collaboration, which we believe is a key driver of our mission to be the best. To be successful in this role, you will:
Design, develop and implement custom software solutions using Appian’s platform—including everything from modeling database schema, to building out user flows, to creating UI mockups
Deliver projects independently or with a small team depending on the complexity and scope of the project
Research, develop, and implement (with your team) new tools to speed up and simplify application development
Ensure all documentation, training, and tooling you develop is maintained, easily accessible and globally reusable
Triage and troubleshoot production issues and provide ongoing support to various business applications
Basic qualifications:
B.S./B.A. in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Mathematics or related field/degree
4+ years of experience with hands-on Appian development
History of success on cross-functional teams; experience building products using agile methodologies (pair programming, stand-ups, planning sessions, and sprints)
Knowledge on leveraging APIs, database design/data modeling, SQL skills (writing queries, joins, views, etc.)
Nice to Haves:
Knowledge of software testing practices; integrations experience using APIs such as REST and SOAP, JDBC connections, and web services; familiarity with Artificial Intelligence (AI)
