The Senior Application Support Engineer will provide L2/L3 support for retail banking applications, monitor system health, troubleshoot issues, and ensure compliance with security standards.
We are seeking an experienced Application Support Engineer with strong expertise in retail banking systems, card platforms (credit/debit), and solid technical skills in Java and SQL. The candidate will be responsible for supporting critical banking applications, ensuring system stability, and providing timely resolution to production issues.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide L2/L3 production support for retail banking and card-related applications
- Monitor application health, troubleshoot issues, and ensure high availability
- Investigate and resolve incidents related to credit/debit card processing systems
- Perform root cause analysis (RCA) and implement preventive measures
- Work closely with development, QA, and business teams to resolve defects and improve system performance
- Execute and validate SQL queries, data fixes, and backend troubleshooting
- Support batch processing, job monitoring, and scheduling tools
- Participate in release deployments and post-release validations
- Maintain documentation for incidents, known issues, and support procedures
- Ensure compliance with banking security and regulatory standards
- Provide on-call support and handle critical production incidents
- Strong experience in Java-based applications support
- Proficiency in SQL (Oracle / MySQL / PostgreSQL) for data analysis and issue resolution
- Experience with Unix/Linux environments
- Familiarity with application servers (e.g., WebLogic, Tomcat)
- Knowledge of batch jobs, schedulers (e.g., Control-M, Autosys)
- Understanding of APIs, microservices architecture, and logs analysis
- Strong understanding of Retail Banking systems
- Hands-on experience with Credit/Debit Card lifecycle (authorization, clearing, settlement)
- Knowledge of payment networks (e.g., Visa, Mastercard) is a plus Soft Skills:

- Excellent communication and stakeholder management
- Ability to work under pressure in a production support environment
- Team player with a proactive approach
