Job Description

We seek an experienced Cloud Engineer to join our Innovation & Digital Transformation (IDT) Department in Chennai, India. In this role, you’ll be responsible for initiating, planning and defining cloud architectures and turning them into seamless and efficient cloud products, directly supporting our core business objectives and enabling innovation. Your day-to-day job will involve creating and fine-tuning of cloud architectures, deploying and maintaining cloud-based applications, and ensuring that cloud services are consistently available and performing at their best for our end-users. Your new role

 As a member of the IDT Cloud Engineering team, you will be responsible for transforming well-defined cloud architectures into value generating, business-driven cloud products. You will:

  • Directly impact business outcomes by defining cloud architectures and deploying cloud applications that are essential to maintaining and expanding our services.
  • Optimise cloud environments to ensure cost-effectiveness, aligning cloud strategies with Ramboll’s financial and operational goals.
  • Implement automation processes that increase deployment speeds and improve the overall performance of cloud-based products, ensuring our business services can scale seamlessly.
  • Configure cloud services for maximum security, safeguarding our business-critical data and operations.


About you

  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Business Administration, Engineering or a related field.
  • 5-10 years of experience as Solutions Analyst, Infrastructure Architect, or similar role with a focus on cloud services.
  • Strong understanding of cloud technologies and their infrastructure (especially Azure and Google Cloud).
  • Proven ability to translate business requirements into technical specifications.
  • Experience working with cloud architects, software developers, engineers and end-users in a corporate environment.
  • Problem-solving mindset with a focus on delivering business value through cloud technology.
  • Proven experience with DevOps and agile frameworks.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information to both technical and non-technical audiences across diverse cultures and geographies.

  • Certifications in cloud platforms (e.g., Google Cloud Certified - Associate Cloud Engineer, Google Cloud Digital Leader, Azure Fundamentals).
  • Familiarity with cloud cost management and optimisation strategies.
