Job Description

Purpose of the role

To design, develop and improve software, utilising various engineering methodologies, that provides business, platform, and technology capabilities for our customers and colleagues. 

Accountabilities

  • Development and delivery of high-quality software solutions by using industry aligned programming languages, frameworks, and tools. Ensuring that code is scalable, maintainable, and optimized for performance.
  • Cross-functional collaboration with product managers, designers, and other engineers to define software requirements, devise solution strategies, and ensure seamless integration and alignment with business objectives.
  • Collaboration with peers, participate in code reviews, and promote a culture of code quality and knowledge sharing.
  • Stay informed of industry technology trends and innovations and actively contribute to the organization’s technology communities to foster a culture of technical excellence and growth.
  • Adherence to secure coding practices to mitigate vulnerabilities, protect sensitive data, and ensure secure software solutions.
  • Implementation of effective unit testing practices to ensure proper code design, readability, and reliability.

Finance Data Team is a global team responsible for the design, development and maintenance of applications supporting the mandatory Finance Data of Barclays across clusters in US, Europe, UK and APAC, as well as devising the reporting strategy for Finance. Its primary mission is to continuously improve efficiency and effectiveness of global and local reporting architecture to allow our business stakeholders to have a sustained competitive advantage through technology.

To be successful as a Senior Data Analyst, you should have experience with:

  • Strong portfolio governance and delivery oversight experience.
  • Governance, risk, issue, and dependency management.
  • Portfolio reporting, dashboard creation, and MI production.
  • Resource planning and workforce management.
  • Demand management and capacity planning.
  • Financial tracking and budget governance.
  • Knowledge of Agile methodology.
  • JIRA governance, backlog management, sprint tracking, and delivery reporting.
  • Experience producing JIRA-based dashboards, KPIs, and management reporting for leadership and governance forums.

Some of Highly Valued Skills may include:

  • Advanced Excel, PowerPoint, Confluence and SharePoint.
  • Strong working knowledge of JIRA administration, workflow management, reporting, and dashboard configuration.
  • Experience with reporting and dashboard tools (Power BI preferred).
  • Strong data analysis and management information reporting capability.
