- Write complex algorithms to get an optimal solution
- Use distributed computing to validate and process large volumes of data to deliver insights
- Interface with product and other engineering teams
- Design & develop data ingestion and processing pipelines, using Spark, Scala, Python, Hive and databases
- Write complex, maintainable code to develop scalable data processing engines using Spark Scala, Apache Hive, and databases
- Work on Cloud technologies; including PAAS, data warehousing and data lake
- Evaluate technologies we can leverage, including open-source frameworks, libraries, and tools
- Participate in the full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) of the cloud based Big Data Solution - conceptualize, design, develop, test and deploy
- Minimum B.S. degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field
- 6+ years of applicable data engineering experience, including Big Data technologies
- Strong fundamentals in Git and code management
- Good experience working in large data sets, with hands-on technology skills to design and build robust big data solutions using Spark framework, Azure services and industry standard frameworks, such as Databricks and other tools & technologies.
- Hands-on experience in configuration management, monitoring and performance tuning of Spark based platforms
- Strong fundamentals in distributed computing principles, data mining & data processing methodologies
- Excellent problem solving, hands-on engineering and communication skills
- Strong knowledge of data structures, algorithms and designing for performance, scalability and availability
- Orchestration and messaging frameworks: Airflow, Messaging Frameworks, etc.
- Experience in Azure or any cloud computing
- Knowledge of and Experience in DevOps is a plus (Docker, GitHub Actions, etc.)
