Job Description 

This role requires a skilled and experienced Mainframe Developer with 4 - 6 Years of specialized technical experience to support, maintain, and enhance a suite of mainframe applications. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in various skills in mainframe technologies, middleware, databases, and DevOps practices, with a strong understanding of enterprise application support.  

Roles & Responsibilities 

  • Design, develop, and maintain Mainframe applications using COBOL, CICS, IMS DB/DC, DB2, MQ and VSAM. 
  • Experience in enterprise-level ticketing systems (ServiceNow, Service Manager, etc..,) and their operational workflows. 
  • Perform maintenance and production support (L1/L2/L3) for mainframe applications, ensuring high availability and resolving incidents/defects within SLA timeframes. 
  • Provide technical troubleshooting and resolution for complex application and integration.  
  • Conduct performance tuning and optimization of Mainframe applications and database queries. 
  • Develop technical documentation (Knowledge Base articles, SOPs) for business and support teams 
  • Understand both functional and technical requirements and provide implementation/change options aligned with business needs. 

Qualifications: 

  • Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. 
  • Experience: Extensive experience in mainframe application development, support and maintenance 
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in mainframe technologies such as COBOL, JCL, CICS, DB2, IMS DC/DB, MQ and VSAM. Strong understanding of software development life cycle (SDLC) methodologies. Experience with version control systems and software development tools. 
  • Soft Skills: Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
