Job Summary:
We are currently looking for a Senior Manager – Software Testing for LoanServ Team, to lead the Software Testing Team. The incumbent will provide thought leadership, operational direction and overall governance to all QA and Testing related assignments, projects as well as strategy and providing oversight to a dynamic, engaged and skilled group of over 20 QA professionals. Some of the primary roles and responsibilities include:
Responsibilities and Duties
- Review and (where necessary) re-build existing testing frameworks, tools, procedures and policies
- Build and align the team to execute on the testing frameworks and procedures
- Execution of various testing procedures such as functional and non-functional testing, performance testing, security testing & smoke testing for each product release cycle
- Drive a feedback loop mechanism to ensure best software development practices, code and other elements that consistently not meet testing criteria is reported back to improve overall quality
- Perform analysis of upcoming releases to understand the requirements from the perspective of completion, testability, and ease of understanding
- Perform test results analysis, post execution of testing, and provide feedback on areas of improvements in code
- Perform defect trend analysis during and after release and provide detailed report on risks and lessons learned.
- Responsible for providing estimates for new releases based on QA lifecycle
- Responsible for creating test strategies for all the planned released in the area based on organization standards and best practices
- Act as gatekeeper and sign off on all releases that are ready for production
- Be an advocate of automation, responsible for maintaining the existing test automation framework and improving it on regular basis.
- Responsible for augmenting automated test cases after every release to maximize the benefits out of test automation.
Supervisory
- Provide supervision of all QA & Testing activities and staff for the responsible application/business area
- Manage & lead the Software QA team by establishing timely and challenging performance standards, providing ongoing feedback
- Participating in the career development of staff, acting as a positive role model and mentor
- Perform hands-on technical level when needed to help direct project teams and keep projects on course
- Work closely with software engineering managers on overall project delivery and improvements
- Defining and collecting process metrics and leveraging them for improving the overall Software Development Life Cycle Processes.
- Establishing goals for the teams and measuring them
- Conduct regular business review with stakeholders
- Identify and lead regular training for the Software QA Team
The Position Requirements – Area of Expertise and Focus
- Deep technical expertise in implementing industry standard testing methodology and tools
- Experience in implementing testing best practices specific to the test planning and execution processes and gaining buy-in for changes from executives
- A deep understanding of test planning and delivery challenges
- Experience with methodologies including, but not limited to Agile, RUP, or Waterfall
- Experience planning, tracking and delivering projects using Microsoft Project and documenting processes in Microsoft Visio or Lucid Chart
- Working experience in Test Management Tools
Qualifications and Skills
- A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering
- A Masters in Engineering / Technology or Post graduation in business (Nice to have)
- 15+ years of experience with at least 10 years proven track record in leading the testing practice
- A background in the banking or mortgage or other financial services industries
- Understanding of SaaS offerings, cloud infrastructure and open source tools and applications
Communication
- Facilitates team and stakeholder meetings effectively
- Holds regular status meetings / scrums with testing & development team
- Resolves and/or escalates issues in a timely fashion
- Understands how to communicate difficult/sensitive information tactfully
Astute cross-cultural awareness and experience in working with international teams (especially US)
