This role is ideal for professionals who enjoy solving complex data engineering challenges, building scalable cloud-native architectures, and driving platform excellence through automation, governance, and DevOps best practices.

As a Senior Platform Architect, you will own the end-to-end architecture of a unified data ecosystem, leveraging Microsoft Fabric capabilities such as OneLake, Data Factory, Data Engineering, Data Warehousing, Real-Time Analytics, and Power BI. Working closely with engineering, analytics, and business stakeholders, you will establish scalable development standards, implement robust CI/CD pipelines, optimize platform performance, and ensure secure, governed, and cost-efficient data operations. This is a hands-on technical leadership role that combines strategic architecture with active implementation and mentoring.

RequirementsKey Responsibilities
  • Design and own the end-to-end Microsoft Fabric platform architecture, including OneLake, Lakehouse, Data Warehouse, Data Factory, Real-Time Analytics, and Power BI.
  • Build scalable, secure, and high-performing data platforms using modern cloud-native architecture principles and medallion data models.
  • Define and implement DevOps practices, including Git integration, CI/CD pipelines, automated deployments, testing, and environment management.
  • Develop reusable infrastructure, deployment templates, and automation frameworks using Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) practices.
  • Establish governance, security, access controls, and compliance standards across Microsoft Fabric environments.
  • Optimize platform performance, workload management, and capacity utilization while driving cost governance and operational efficiency.
  • Collaborate with data engineers, analytics teams, and business stakeholders to define scalable development standards and architectural best practices.
  • Lead migration initiatives from legacy data platforms to Microsoft Fabric while ensuring minimal disruption and maximum reliability.
  • Build monitoring, observability, alerting, and incident response processes to maintain platform availability and performance.
  • Mentor engineering teams on Microsoft Fabric architecture, DevOps methodologies, cloud engineering best practices, and platform operational excellence.
What Makes You a Great Fit
  • 9+ years of experience in Data Platform Architecture, Cloud Engineering, DevOps, or Enterprise Data Engineering.
  • Strong hands-on expertise with Microsoft Fabric, including OneLake, Data Factory, Lakehouse, Data Warehouse, Power BI, and Real-Time Analytics.
  • Proven experience designing scalable enterprise data platforms on Microsoft Azure with modern cloud architecture principles.
  • Strong knowledge of DevOps, Git-based workflows, CI/CD pipelines, Infrastructure-as-Code, and deployment automation using Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions.
  • Deep understanding of data lake architectures, Delta Lake, medallion architecture, data governance, security, and access management.
  • Experience optimizing Microsoft Fabric capacity, performance, cost management, and workload monitoring.
  • Proficiency in technologies such as PySpark, Spark SQL, Python, T-SQL, or KQL for data engineering and platform development.
  • Experience integrating Microsoft Fabric with Azure services, APIs, automation platforms, and enterprise applications.
  • Strong communication, stakeholder management, and technical leadership skills with the ability to translate complex architecture into practical business solutions.
  • Microsoft Fabric, Azure Data Engineering, or Azure Architecture certifications, along with experience in regulated enterprise environments, will be considered a strong advantage.

What you need to know about the Chennai Tech Scene

To locals, it's no secret that South India is leading the charge in big data infrastructure. While the environmental impact of data centers has long been a concern, emerging hubs like Chennai are favored by companies seeking ready access to renewable energy resources, which provide more sustainable and cost-effective solutions. As a result, Chennai, along with neighboring Bengaluru and Hyderabad, is poised for significant growth, with a projected 65 percent increase in data center capacity over the next decade.
