Senior Technical Consultant – Scale Specialist Lead (ODSP/Teams – Tenant‑to‑Tenant)

The Role

The Role:
You are the offshore specialist leader for tenant‑to‑tenant SharePoint/OneDrive/Teams content migration. You provide technical authority, escalation support and delivery patterns for the Scale squads and the Factory. Your success is measured by reducing exceptions, accelerating resolution of complex ODSP/Teams content issues and providing repeatable runbooks and “known fix” patterns that enable industrial execution. You will typically align to one region (Europe, Americas, or Asia) and adapt working hours accordingly, while maintaining common standards across the global programme.

Key Responsibilities:

- Act as the ODSP/Teams migration technical authority for your aligned region; provide escalation support to Scale and Factory teams.

- Define and maintain ODSP/Teams migration runbooks, validation gates and remediation playbooks.

- Support wave planning by identifying high‑risk sites/OneDrives/Teams content and defining mitigation actions- Troubleshoot complex migration failures (permissions, sharing, metadata, large libraries, throttling, file blocks).

- Provide guidance on Teams‑associated file dependencies and cutover sequencing constraints.

- Ensure evidence capture is complete and consistent for migration acceptance and audit readiness.

- Maintain a “known issues and fixes” catalogue; drive repeat issue reduction through root cause elimination.

- Coordinate with Identity and Entra Apps specialists where access, sharing or auth dependencies block content validation.

- Provide metrics inputs on exceptions and remediation throughput; propose operational improvements.

- Participate in cutover windows to ensure rapid triage and stabilisation.

Who You Are

Must‑Have:

- Delivered tenant‑to‑tenant ODSP/Teams content migrations in production (specialism mandatory).

- Deep SharePoint Online/OneDrive expertise, including permissions models, sharing, metadata and information architecture constraints.

- Hands‑on experience with enterprise migration tooling in this domain (ShareGate and/or Quest or equivalent).

- Strong runbook discipline and ability to industrialise delivery through repeatable patterns and quality gates.

- Willingness to align working hours to regional cutovers (early/late calls) and support extended hours when required.

- Strong evidence capture and documentation habits; writes playbooks that engineers can follow without ambiguity.

- Ability to coach and guide teams while maintaining pace and quality.

Good‑to‑Have:

- Experience migrating Teams‑associated shared content and managing dependency impacts.

- PowerShell/Graph reporting and automation experience.

- Familiarity with data governance considerations (retention/labelling behaviours, access governance).

- Microsoft 365 certification alignment in collaboration/admin domains (or equivalent experience).

Interpersonal & Consulting Skills:

- Calm escalation leader; structured troubleshooting under cutover pressure.

- Strong coaching behaviours; builds capability through patterns, not ad‑hoc fixes.

- Clear and concise communicator across time zones; excellent handover habits.

- Evidence‑driven; avoids assumptions and documents decisions and outcomes.

- Collaborative dependency management across identity, endpoints and adoption stakeholders.

- High accountability and integrity in handling customer environments and access.

Typical Deliverables / KPIs:

- Exception rate reduction and repeat issue elimination trend.

- MTTR for ODSP/Teams migration blockers.

- Validation pass rate and reduction in rework/reruns.

- Evidence pack completeness rate per wave/work item.

- Throughput support effectiveness (factory/scale velocity improvements attributable to playbooks).

Shift / Working Pattern Notes:
Scale teams operate as a cohesive unit within a follow‑the‑sun project delivery model. Each scale team works an 8‑hour shift, scheduled across a 24‑hour global working day. Structured handovers between scale teams are mandatory and cutover periods may require rota flexibility.
