About Juniper Square

Our mission is to unlock the full potential of private markets. Privately owned assets like commercial real estate, private equity, and venture capital make up half of our financial ecosystem yet remain inaccessible to most people. We are digitizing these markets, and as a result, bringing efficiency, transparency, and access to one of the most productive corners of our financial ecosystem. If you care about making the world a better place by making markets work better through technology – all while contributing as a member of a values-driven organization – we want to hear from you.

Juniper Square offers employees a variety of ways to work, ranging from a fully remote experience to working full-time in one of our physical offices. We invest heavily in digital-first operations, allowing our teams to collaborate effectively across 27 U.S. states, 2 Canadian Provinces, India, Luxembourg, and England. We also have physical offices in San Francisco, New York City, Mumbai and Bangalore for employees who prefer to work in an office some or all of the time.

Backend Engineering & API Development
  • Architect and implement backend services using Python/FastAPI (preferred) or Java (Spring Boot/Quarkus).

  • Design and deliver scalable RESTful and GraphQL APIs with strong focus on performance, security, and maintainability.

  • Build asynchronous task pipelines and microservices using Celery, RabbitMQ, Redis, or equivalent message brokers.

  • Design efficient database schemas and queries (PostgreSQL/MySQL/NoSQL).

Cloud & DevOps
  • Deploy, manage, and optimize systems on AWS (EC2, ECS/EKS, Lambda, S3, RDS, CloudWatch, IAM, etc.).

  • Implement CI/CD processes, automated pipelines, and environment provisioning.

  • Use containerization tools like Docker and Kubernetes for microservice orchestration.

  • Ensure observability through logging, monitoring, and distributed tracing.

Architecture & System Design
  • Lead discussions on scalability, distributed architecture, caching, API design, and event-driven patterns.

  • Drive decisions on best-fit technologies, frameworks, and cloud-native approaches.

  • Ensure adherence to security best practices and compliance standards.

Required Skills & Qualifications

8–12 years of backend engineering experience, with 3+ years in a technical leadership role.

Strong experience with:

  • Exposure to domain-driven design (DDD) and clean architecture principles.

  • Knowledge of infrastructure-as-code (Terraform/CloudFormation).

  • Experience with performance tuning, load testing, and cost optimization on AWS.

What you need to know about the Chennai Tech Scene

To locals, it's no secret that South India is leading the charge in big data infrastructure. While the environmental impact of data centers has long been a concern, emerging hubs like Chennai are favored by companies seeking ready access to renewable energy resources, which provide more sustainable and cost-effective solutions. As a result, Chennai, along with neighboring Bengaluru and Hyderabad, is poised for significant growth, with a projected 65 percent increase in data center capacity over the next decade.
