Position Summary: We are seeking a Senior User Researcher who possesses strong business analysis skills, a passion for process optimization, and a keen eye for automation opportunities to join our dynamic Authorization Management team in Chennai, India.
 

Job Summary: As a Senior User Researcher at athenahealth, you will be responsible for analyzing business needs and translating them into actionable requirements that drive product development. You will leverage your user research skills to ensure that solutions not only meet business objectives but also provide exceptional user experiences. Your role will involve collaborating with cross-functional teams, including product managers, developers, and stakeholders, to drive design decisions that enhance user experiences, streamline processes, and reduce workloads.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough analysis to identify needs, challenges, and opportunities for improvement within the organization.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather and document business requirements, ensuring alignment with strategic goals.
  • Utilize UX design principles to inform the development of user stories, wireframes, and functional specifications.
  • Facilitate workshops and meetings to validate requirements and design concepts, ensuring stakeholder buy-in.
  • Analyze existing processes and workflows to identify inefficiencies and recommend solutions for optimization and automation.
  • Conduct user research and usability testing to gather insights that inform design decisions and enhance user satisfaction.
  • Develop and maintain documentation, including business process models, user personas, and journey maps.
  • Monitor and analyze product performance metrics to identify areas for improvement and inform iterative design processes.
  • Advocate for user-centered design principles and best practices within the organization.
     

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human-Computer Interaction, UX Design, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience as a User Researcher, with a strong understanding of UX design principles and methodologies.
  • Proven ability to analyze business and user needs and translate them into user-centered design solutions.
  • Proficient in user research techniques, usability testing, and data analysis.
  • Experience with wireframing, prototyping, and process diagramming tools (e.g., Figma, Axure, Mural, Lucidchart).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies is a plus.
