About the Role

Are you passionate about cutting-edge cloud technologies and eager to apply industry-leading SRE practices? At Trimble Platform, we are looking for a Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) - II to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will work on provisioning, operating, and scaling core engineering services in the public cloud while collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure reliability, performance, and efficiency across our SaaS products.

What You Will Do

As part of the Cloud Core Platform SRE team, you will:

  • Design, implement, and operate scalable, reliable, and secure AWS infrastructure (Azure experience is a plus).

  • Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, AWS CodePipeline, etc.) for automated, repeatable deployments.

  • Drive automation for infrastructure provisioning, configuration management, and operational tasks using Terraform, CloudFormation, Ansible, and similar tools.

  • Implement monitoring and observability solutions (CloudWatch, Datadog, Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, etc.) to ensure system health, availability, and performance.

  • Collaborate with development and architecture teams to build resilient and reliable services while promoting DevOps culture.

  • Define and track SRE practices including SLIs, SLOs, and error budgets.

  • Optimize performance and cost across cloud infrastructure, monitoring/logging platforms, and SaaS workloads (FinOps awareness preferred).

  • Ensure compliance and security, resolving issues raised by SecOps tools and following cloud best practices.

  • Perform incident response and on-call duties, troubleshooting production issues, conducting root cause analysis, and driving preventive improvements.

  • Prototype and evaluate new cloud services and tools to continuously improve platform reliability and developer productivity.

  • Support scalability and performance engineering for cloud-native and serverless applications.

What Skills & Experience You Should Bring

Must-Have Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.

  • 4+ years of strong hands-on experience in AWS Cloud (EC2, S3, RDS, IAM, VPC, Lambda, CloudFormation, Terraform, etc.).

  • Proven expertise in CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, AWS CodePipeline/Deploy/Build).

  • Strong background in Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) using Terraform, CloudFormation, or AWS CDK.

  • Hands-on knowledge of containers and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes, ECS, or EKS).

  • Proficiency in scripting/programming languages (Python, Bash, or Go).

  • Experience in monitoring, observability, and incident response with tools like CloudWatch, Datadog, Grafana, or Prometheus.

  • Solid understanding of networking, security, and IAM in cloud environments.

  • Experience designing and supporting production-grade, highly available, and scalable systems.

Desired Skills (Nice to Have):

  • AWS Certification (or equivalent cloud certification).

  • Experience with serverless architectures (AWS Lambda, API Gateway, SAM).

  • Strong programming background (Python preferred).

  • Exposure to FinOps practices for cloud cost optimization.

  • Hands-on experience with SQL and NoSQL databases.

  • Familiarity with SaaS monitoring/alerting toolsets (NewRelic, PagerDuty, SumoLogic, InfluxDB).

  • Experience with Atlassian tools (Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket).

  • Prior experience in an SRE role supporting large-scale SaaS environments.
