- Lead a product development team with a strong background and experience in Software Engineering and cloud-native application development, driving best practices and innovation.
- Oversee e2e SW development lifecycle, including architecture, coding, testing, deploy and maintenance of Cloud native products.
Primary Responsibilities
- You will be playing a key role in the next-gen SaaS product and platform development.
- You will be responsible for full lifecycle of software engineering project (planning, execution/Delivery, monitoring, risk management, resolution of issues, and achievement of the targets) within agreed quality, time, budget, and other agreed KPIs/SLAs
- Provide guidance to the Software Engineering team and other departments in identifying product and technical requirements.
- Serve as primary point of contact and liaison between Software Engineering and other teams & stakeholders.
- You will lead the team for meeting the best software engineering practices, quality processes and methodologies.
- Direct implementation initiatives for new software products and applications. Manage software update process for existing applications and coordinates the roll-out of software releases.
- Manage all the deliverables to ensure adherence to deadlines, specifications and budgets. Implement performance metrics and prepare period reports and/or proposals.
- Ensures all engineers keep current with technological developments within the industry. Monitor and evaluate competitive applications and products
- You will promote and instil a culture of continuous improvement and efficiency to the software/business processes through out-of-the-box thinking on product and processes by utilizing or creating new software engineering tools and different innovation techniques
- You will manage multiple interfaces (internal and external), relationships and communication to ensure software delivery is aligned to meet not only the customer requirements, but also adds value to their business
- Drive agile development practises and ensure team follow and adhere to best engineering methods.
Primary Skillset Requirements
- Minimum 6-8 years of experience in Core Java development and solid understanding of core java concepts.
- Experience in development of HA, scalable, secure and reliable web-apps in Cloud environment.
- Strong knowledge to use design patterns and produce reusable components
- Hands on experience in Spring, Spring Boot micro-services, Spring MVC, Hibernate and other Spring boot components and dependencies
- Hands on experience in SQL and any NoSQL DBs
- Hands on experience deploying and troubleshooting in cloud and Unix based systems.
- Experience in observability, monitoring and logging frameworks.
- Hands on experience in Kafka or any Message Broker.
- Hands on experience using docker and Kubernetes to deploy and scale applications
- Performs peer code reviews as part of everyday workflow.
- Knowledge of Junit or at least one Java unit testing framework; preferably TDD practitioner
- Exposure to any Big Data analytics platform using Spark and ETL
- Foster engineering’s best practices for the development of high-quality products
- Strong problem-solving skills, learning agility and ability to manage multiple priorities in fast paced environment.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's / Master’s degree in Engineering/IT/Computers or equivalent
- 12-18 + years of experience in SW Engineering role & Delivery Role
- 5-10 years of experience in leading SW engineering team
- Thorough understanding of software development and/or support methodologies, principles, procedures and related software management tools.
- Experience building scalable SaaS platform is a clear advantage
- Preferred to have experience with Telecom Product development with TMF standards preferred
- Preferred to have experience working in NMS/OSS platforms and understanding of eTOM model.
- Knowledge or experience in AI/ML development and Data science would be an added value.
