Join us as a Software Engineer

  • Be a part of how we shape the future of banking technology by engineering solutions that deliver innovation, security, and performance at scale
  • You’ll work on complex, high-impact projects in permanent feature teams, collaborating with experts to build systems that transform customer experiences
  • This is your opportunity to set the benchmark for engineering excellence, creating systems that power critical banking services and elevate how colleagues work
  • We're offering this role at associate vice president level

What you'll do

Be the engineer who turns vision into reality. As our software engineer, you’ll design and deliver innovative, customer-centric solutions that underpin critical banking operations. You’ll engineer software, scripts, and tools, working in permanent feature teams alongside architects, analysts, and fellow engineers to build systems that are secure, scalable, and future-ready. You’ll deliver solutions that are not only robust but are also designed to create real business impact.

You’ll focus on:

  • Producing complex, business-critical software rapidly and to the highest standards of quality
  • Owning the full development lifecycle from design and coding through testing, deployment, ongoing optimisation, and ultimately to replacement or decommissioning
  • Collaborating across teams to enhance our engineering capability and embed best practices
  • Driving continuous improvement through automation, modern frameworks, and innovative solutions

The skills you'll need

Bring your technical depth and problem-solving agility to a role where innovation meets real customer outcomes. You’ll combine your expertise in modern frameworks and cloud computing with a clear understanding of how your work supports our customers. Your ability to solve complex analytical and numerical problems and optimise for performance, scalability, and cost-efficiency are crucial for this role, as well. Alongside all this, you’ll bring a passion for innovation and continuous improvement, challenging the status quo to deliver smarter solutions.

You’re also expected to have:

  • At least 8 to 12 years of experience in designing and developing high-performance and high-availability applications using proven frameworks and technologies
  • A proven track record of deploying and operating highly available cloud workloads on AWS; equivalent expertise on other major platforms is valued
  • Experience of implementing programming best practice, especially around scalability, automation, virtualisation, optimisation, availability, performance, and cost-efficiency
  • Familiarity with modern architectural patterns such as microservices, event streaming, serverless computing, and multi-region infrastructure

What you need to know about the Chennai Tech Scene

To locals, it's no secret that South India is leading the charge in big data infrastructure. While the environmental impact of data centers has long been a concern, emerging hubs like Chennai are favored by companies seeking ready access to renewable energy resources, which provide more sustainable and cost-effective solutions. As a result, Chennai, along with neighboring Bengaluru and Hyderabad, is poised for significant growth, with a projected 65 percent increase in data center capacity over the next decade.
