As an emerging member of a software engineering team, you execute software solutions through the design, development, and technical troubleshooting of multiple components within a technical product, application, or system, while gaining the skills and experience needed to grow within your role.
Job Responsibilities
- Design and develop complex and scalable coding frameworks using appropriate software design methodologies.
- Produce secure, high-quality production code and review and debug code written by peers.
- Identify opportunities to eliminate or automate the remediation of recurring issues to enhance operational stability.
- Contribute to the engineering community by advocating for firmwide frameworks, tools, and practices.
- Develop innovative software solutions and resolve technical problems with unconventional approaches.
- Contribute to a team culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect.
Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills
- Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 2+ years applied experience.
- Demonstrated hands-on experience with Java, Spring/Spring Boot, Python, and SQL-related technologies.
- Proven ability in delivering system design, application development, testing, and ensuring operational stability.
- Proficient in DevOps practices, automated testing, and continuous integration/deployment tools such as Jenkins, Docker, and Kubernetes.
- Hands-on experience with data lake or data warehouse technologies, including Databricks, Java, Python, and Spark.
- Demonstrated proficiency in software applications and technical processes within a technical discipline, such as cloud computing (AWS, PCF, etc.).
- Proficiency in databases such as Oracle, CockroachDB or DynamoDB, as well as other similar databases.
- Comprehensive understanding of all aspects of the Software Development Life Cycle.
- Advanced knowledge of agile methodologies, including CI/CD, application resiliency, and security.
Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills
- Exposure to AWS cloud, Terraform, Databricks/Snowflake through hands-on experience or certification.
- Advanced proficiency in other programming languages, such as Java and Python.
