What's the role?
Who are we?
- Be part of the HERE Mapmaking team, driving quality for tools that help users build their own custom maps
- Understand product workflows and design comprehensive test strategies to validate complex map editing interactions
- Build and maintain scalable end-to-end test suites using Playwright and other tools
- Collaborate with frontend, backend, and DevOps engineers to drive shift-left testing practices
- Participate in grooming and sprint planning, advocating for test coverage and quality gates
- Integrate automation into the CI/CD pipeline to support fast, reliable releases
- Work closely with Product Managers and UX to validate features from a user’s perspective
- Participate in debugging production issues and contribute to root cause analysis
- Contribute to building a quality-first culture within the team
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related discipline, or equivalent experience
- 2+ years of experience in automation testing of modern web applications
- Hands-on experience with test automation tools like Playwright, Cypress, or similar frameworks
- Solid understanding of JavaScript/TypeScript, and experience in scripting and debugging test cases
- Debug UI issues by inspecting browser behaviours, network calls, console logs, and DOM structures.
- Collaborate with developers to reproduce and analyse UI bugs and edge cases.
- Strong knowledge of browser behavior, DOM, async operations, and front-end testing best practices
- Ability to analyze application logic and translate it into effective test strategies and scenarios
- Experience working with GraphQL or REST API testing
- Familiarity with CI/CD tools such as GitLab CI, Jenkins, or GitHub Actions
- Exposure to Docker/Kubernetes, cloud platforms like AWS is a plus
- Passion for learning new technologies and adapting to dynamic requirements
- Experience in agile software development environments
