Own axle validation programs covering durability, performance, bench, and structural testing. Analyze test data, correlate RLDA and CAE results, investigate failures, perform root-cause analysis, and recommend engineering improvements. Coordinate suppliers, laboratories, test agencies, and global engineering teams while applying reliability methods and statistical tools to improve validation processes and axle product quality.
The Specialist – Axle Development & Validation will serve as the subject‑matter expert for axle aggregates, subsystems and components within the TT/XP1‑6 department. You will own validation programs, conduct durability and performance testing, lead failure investigations, and collaborate with global engineering teams, suppliers and test agencies to deliver robust, high‑quality axle solutions for Daimler’s commercial vehicle portfolio.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute comprehensive validation plans for axle aggregates, subsystems and components.
- Plan, coordinate and monitor bench testing of critical axle parts such as gears, bearings, housings, shafts and differentials.
- Analyze test data, correlate RLDA and CAE results with field conditions, and provide engineering recommendations.
- Conduct failure investigations, damage assessments and root‑cause analysis for axle‑related issues.
- Support design validation through technical reviews, risk identification and improvement opportunities.
- Apply reliability engineering techniques and statistical tools to assess component and system performance.
- Collaborate with suppliers, external laboratories and test‑bench partners to develop effective validation methodologies.
- Work closely with global engineering teams to align validation approaches and share technical learnings.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives in testing processes, validation methods and product quality.
- Provide technical support for issue resolution during development, production and field operation phases.
- BE/B.Tech in Mechanical, Automobile, Production, Mechatronics or related engineering discipline.
- 5‑8 years of experience in axle development, validation, testing or reliability engineering.
- Strong understanding of axle systems, aggregates, sub‑components and their functional interactions.
- Hands‑on experience with axle durability, performance and structural testing.
- Proficiency in failure analysis, root‑cause investigation and corrective‑action implementation.
- Familiarity with reliability engineering principles, statistical analysis and CAE correlation methods.
- Experience with measurement systems, instrumentation and data acquisition techniques.
- Effective communication and stakeholder‑management skills for global team collaboration.
- Ability to independently manage technical assignments and meet project timelines.
- Prior experience in commercial vehicle or automotive product development environments is preferred.
