SQM Manager

We are currently recruiting an SQM Manager to be based in Monterrey, Mexico. The purpose of this role is to manage the SQM setup, ensuring coverage and performance for the East region (rest of the world) for both Spares & Consumables Suppliers.
The SQM framework drives Supplier Quality performance through Supplier audits, quality inspections, NCR follow-up with action plans, and Supplier development. This will be done in close collaboration and alignment with the Strategic Procurement team and Service Line Managers.
Your responsibilities
Drives the overall Supplier Quality agenda, transformation and performance together with the SQMs, Quality Engineers and Head of Supplier Quality.
Ensures the coverage, performance and general management of the SQMs in the Western geography.
Takes the role as SQM, when coverage is required, for the SQMs within the area and serves as the escalation point for the SQMs towards the Operational centre for Order Execution and Procurement
Drives efficiency through resource optimization, including the utilization of external resources
Identifies best practice, requirements for system and tools within Supplier Quality
Secures the implementation of and compliance to relevant Supply Chain policies, processes and reporting of KPI’s
Engages in global initiatives as well as local activities with regards to supplier development in alignment with Strategic Sourcing in SBL Supply Chain
Promotes a culture of personal and team safety, including others who may be affected by the company’s operational activities
Reports directly to the SBL Global Head of Supplier Quality
What you bring
Knowledge, Skills, Experience
- Min 10 years of Quality Control and Quality Management experience
- Bachelor degree, Masters degree in Engineering / Manufacturing or the equivalent knowledge acquired in another way
- Supplier Quality Management process knowledge incl proficient in reviewing technical documentation and specifications.
- Demonstrated ability within stakeholder management
- Deep and broad knowledge of technical and production processes, preferably also in other materials such as Rubber, Polyurethane etc
