As a Software Engineer at Applied Materials, you’ll dive deep into ground-breaking technologies—like machine learning and AI—to craft novel software solutions that solve our customers’ high-value problems. Our Software Engineers are responsible for designing, prototyping, developing, and debugging software solutions for semiconductor equipment components and devices to ensure quality and functionality. You'll develop software documentation and test procedures, troubleshoot software problems, and communicate with internal customers to understand project requirements. As part of our team, you'll contribute your expertise in intricate systems, deciphering code, and anticipating software behaviors to ensure Applied remains the leader in the semiconductor and display sectors.

      Software QA Engineer

      Your Opportunity

      • Gain seamless exposure to different facets of technologies and functional areas (Utility development, functional integration, performancetesting, quality assurance,etc.)
      • Grow horizontally amongst multiple products and solutions of varying complexity of size, scale and operations at enterprise level
      • Grow vertically through the software product and solutions architecture and deliveries

      Key Responsibilities

      • Create and/or maintain test automation frameworks that use Playwright and AMAT internal tools (Non-UI)
      • Create and/or maintain automated tests for the product
      • Maintain test execution setup and monitor/report test results
      • Write test cases and execute manual tests wherever required
      • Use AI technologies such as MCPs, Copilot and Claude, and create AI agents for automating workflows
      • Review and understand product code and provide insight on defects and root causes
      • Create, review and understand engineering documents such as analysis, design, and requirement documents
      • Design general test plan, test cases, system test
      • Develop software test documentation
      • Troubleshoot software problems of limited to complex difficulty levels
      • Resolve customer-reported issues in the product by working with customer support and directly with customers
