Job Summary

We are looking for a proactive and enthusiastic L1 System Administrator to join our Datacenter and Cloud Operations team. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience with Linux and Windows server administration, basic networking, and IT infrastructure support. The candidate will be responsible for monitoring, troubleshooting, and maintaining servers while ensuring high availability of customer services hosted in our Datacenter and Cloud environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor Datacenter and Cloud infrastructure 24x7 using monitoring tools.

  • Perform basic administration of Linux and Windows servers.

  • Handle L1 incident troubleshooting and provide timely resolution or escalate to the L2 team when required.

  • Perform user management, password resets, and access management.

  • Monitor server health, CPU, memory, storage, and network utilization.

  • Check and troubleshoot server services, disk usage, and system logs.

  • Perform server reboot, service restart, and basic performance troubleshooting.

  • Create and maintain technical documentation and operational reports.

  • Execute scheduled maintenance activities during planned windows.

  • Perform basic backup verification and restoration activities.

  • Coordinate with internal teams and customers during incidents and maintenance activities.

  • Ensure adherence to standard operating procedures (SOPs), security policies, and change management processes.

  • Maintain proper incident, service request, and change records in the ticketing system.

  • Support virtualization and cloud environments under the guidance of senior engineers.

  • Participate in shift-based operations, including weekends and holidays, as per business requirements.

Required Technical SkillsLinux
  • Basic administration of RHEL, CentOS, Rocky Linux, Ubuntu, or AlmaLinux.

  • User and group management.

  • File system and permissions management.

  • Basic package management (YUM, DNF, APT).

  • Service management using systemctl.

  • Basic shell commands and log analysis.

  • Basic networking commands (ping, traceroute, netstat/ss, nslookup, dig).

Windows
  • Windows Server administration.

  • User and Group Management.

  • Event Viewer and Windows Services troubleshooting.

  • Disk management and basic server health checks.

  • Remote Desktop (RDP) administration.

  • Basic Active Directory knowledge.

Networking
  • Understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, Subnetting, and Routing concepts.

  • Basic firewall and network troubleshooting.

Virtualization & Cloud (Preferred)
  • Basic understanding of VMware, Hyper-V, Nutanix AHV, or similar virtualization platforms.

  • Basic understanding of Public or Private Cloud concepts.

Monitoring & Ticketing
  • Experience with monitoring tools such as Zabbix, Nagios, PRTG, ManageEngine OpManager, or similar.

  • Experience using ITSM tools such as ServiceDesk Plus, Jira, ServiceNow, or similar.

Desired Skills
  • Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.

  • Good communication and customer-handling skills.

  • Ability to work in rotational shifts (24x7 operations).

  • Ability to learn new technologies quickly.

  • Good documentation skills.

  • Team player with a positive attitude.

Educational Qualification
  • Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electronics, or a related field.

Preferred Certifications
  • RHCSA (Preferred)

  • Microsoft Windows Server Fundamentals

  • CompTIA Linux+

  • CompTIA Server+

  • CompTIA Network+

  • Nutanix Certified Associate (NCA) – Preferred but not mandatory

Roles & Responsibilities
  • Monitor production infrastructure and customer services.

  • Respond to alerts and incidents within defined SLA.

  • Perform first-level troubleshooting.

  • Escalate unresolved issues to L2/L3 teams.

  • Execute standard operating procedures.

  • Support server provisioning and decommissioning activities.

  • Assist during planned maintenance and migration activities.

  • Generate daily operational reports.

  • Ensure system availability and operational compliance.
