Tech Lead, Systems Engineering

What does a successful Tech Lead, Systems Engineering do? 

As a Lead Monitoring Solutions Engineer at Fiserv, you will play a pivotal role in contributing to all projects across our enterprise by implementing state-of-the-art monitoring solutions for a wide range of applications. Utilizing our approved standard set of monitoring tools like Splunk, CA APM, AppDynamics, Dynatrace, and others, you will enable operations teams to proactively identify and remediate issues. Your work will ensure the health and performance of applications, automate the onboarding process, and create meaningful dashboards and reports for technical and business leadership.

What you will do:

  • Onboard new log files into Splunk.
  • Instrument applications with APM tools like CA APM, AppDynamics, and Dynatrace.
  • Develop Synthetic monitoring scripts in CA ASM, Sitescope, Thousand Eyes.
  • Onboard applications onto Application Network Performance Monitoring tools like Extrahop.
  • Configure alerting policies in various tools, including VAIM.
  • Develop comprehensive monitoring dashboards, alerts, and reports in Splunk and other tools.
  • Implement monitoring for both on-premise and cloud applications.
  • Work on extracting, transforming, analyzing, visualizing, and presenting data from diverse business areas.
  • Develop Splunk queries and dashboards aimed at understanding application performance and capacity analysis.
  • Automate manual processes using scripting languages (e.g., Unix, Python, Perl).
  • Educate internal customers on the tools and available dashboards to effectively reduce downtime and perform root cause analysis.

What you will need to have:

  • 5+ years of experience in Splunk administration and development.
  • 4+ years of experience implementing APM tools such as CA APM, AppDynamics, or Dynatrace.
  • 4+ years of experience in developing and configuring synthetic monitoring scripts in CA ASM, Sitescope, or Thousand Eyes.
  • 4+ years of experience in Application Network Performance Monitoring tools such as Extrahop.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field and/or equivalent military experience.
