Position Overview: 

The Technical Product Manager III is a strategic contributor responsible for driving the development and execution of complex technical products. This role balances business goals with customer needs by collaborating closely with engineering, design, and cross-functional teams to define product strategy, manage roadmaps, and deliver technical solutions. The TPM III is also responsible for gathering and documenting technical requirements, leading sprint planning, and ensuring product profitability. They play a key role in capacity planning, removing roadblocks for engineering, and overseeing product testing to ensure solutions meet business needs. Additionally, this position provides leadership and mentorship to junior technical product managers while ensuring that all projects are completed on schedule and aligned with market demands. 


Responsibilities: 

Product Strategy & Roadmap: Define and prioritize product initiatives by collaborating with stakeholders, balancing customer needs with business goals. Contribute to the overall product strategy, medium-term planning, and roadmap execution for complex technical products. 

Cross-functional Leadership: Act as a liaison between engineering, design, and business teams, ensuring clear communication of product requirements and alignment across teams. 

Technical Expertise: Leverage deep understanding of the technical architecture to inform decisions, guide development, and ensure the feasibility of product features. 

Engineering Partnership: Collaborate closely with engineering teams to design, develop, and deliver technical solutions that align with product goals, ensuring feasibility, scalability, and performance. 

Capacity Planning & Support: Assist engineering teams in capacity planning by providing clear product priorities, timelines, and managing resources. Actively work to re ove roadblocks, streamline processes, and mitigate challenges to maintain momentum. 

Requirement Gathering & Backlog Management: Lead the discovery process, gathering and translating business and technical requirements into clear, actionable user stories and backlogs. Set acceptance criteria, business value, and backlog priorities for sprint planning, ensuring user stories align with higher-level epics. 

Market Needs & Profitability: Define market needs, assess ROI, and ensure product profitability by aligning product development with strategic business goals. 

Technical Specifications & Documentation: Gather and document functional, system, and data requirements. Create detailed technical specifications and data models for the development of new products or modifications to existing ones. 

Release Planning & Execution: Manage the end-to-end product lifecycle for large, technical initiatives. Own planning and release cadence in alignment with engineering timelines. Collaborate with operations and other stakeholders to successfully launch completed products. 

Stakeholder Communication & Reporting: Ensure regular, concise updates to leadership and key stakeholders regarding product progress, trade-offs, and delivery timelines. 

Customer Focus: Meet with end users to understand business processes and ensure features drive value for users. Continuously gather feedback from customer success, sales, and support teams. 

Data-Driven Decision Making: Analyze data, track KPIs, and use metrics to guide decisions on product features, performance improvements, and prioritization of work. 

Risk & Issue Management: Proactively identify risks, roadblocks, and dependencies. Coordinate cross-team efforts to resolve challenges and ensure smooth product launches. 

Testing & Quality Assurance: Use development specifications to create detailed test cases. Perform quality assurance testing and analyze results to ensure the product meets documented business needs and target requirements. 

 

Qualifications: 

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business, or a related field, with a strong foundation in product management and software engineering principles. 

Technology Stack Expertise: Deep knowledge and experience with SFDC Service Cloud, API Integrations, Q2C/CPQ applications and Contract Lifecycle Management (CLM) platforms. Ability to lead and contribute to discussions on technical architecture, system integration, and operational efficiency in these areas. 

Proven experience (5+ years) in technical product management, including ownership of end-to-end product lifecycles for complex technical products. Experience in the IT or software industry with a focus on infrastructure, cloud technologies, or related fields. 

Proven track record (5+ years) in defining product requirements, gathering user stories, and translating complex technical challenges into actionable business priorities. Experience working closely with end-users to understand business processes and technical requirements. 

Business Acumen: Strong grasp of business operations, financial considerations, and market dynamics. Ability to align technical products with overarching business strategies, ensuring profitability and market success. 

Agile Methodology Expertise: In-depth knowledge of agile software development methodologies and processes. Ability to lead cross-functional teams in iterative development cycles, balancing speed, quality, and customer feedback. 

Project & Capacity Management: Expertise in managing multiple concurrent projects with competing priorities and deadlines. Strong experience in capacity planning, resource allocation, and removing roadblocks for engineering teams. 

Testing & Quality Assurance: Advanced understanding of testing methodologies, quality assurance processes, and the ability to create detailed test cases for product verification. Ability to analyze test results to ensure solutions meet both technical and business requirements. 

Analytical & Problem-Solving Skills: Exceptional analytical skills with a strong attention to detail. Ability to identify and resolve complex technical and business challenges, proposing creative and efficient solutions. 

Self-driven & Autonomous: Proven ability to work independently with minimal supervision, while also excelling in a collaborative team environment. Strong initiative and self-motivation to drive product success under tight deadlines. 

Exceptional Communication & Organizational Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders. Highly organized with a strong ability to manage time effectively across multiple priorities. 

Leadership & Mentorship: Demonstrated leadership experience, including mentoring and guiding junior product managers. Proven ability to inspire, influence, and elevate team performance.
