About the Role
This is a critical role where you will be entrusted with the stability and reliability of our search endpoint, a cornerstone of the Workday customer and user experience. You will be the product lead responsible for ensuring our search functionality is unfailingly reliable. The stability of this core service directly impacts customer happiness and their ability to efficiently use the full power of the Workday platform. In this position, you will forge close partnerships with key organizations across Workday, including search client-side engineering, infrastructure, and customer support.
Responsibilities- Lead the preparation and delivery of a high performing and efficient search backend
- Demonstrate customer empathy, connect with customers (internal and external) effectively, and assist in driving successful implementations
- Drive product requirements and development for service improvements that contribute to platform objectives
- Clearly define and communicate product requirements in Confluence and JIRA
- Analyze data to establish, monitor, and measure success metrics
- Prioritize features, bugs, and partner with engineering to lead remediation and release process
- Work collaboratively with sophisticated multi-disciplinary teams across all functions of the organization to ensure successful product development and launch
- Understand the overall Workday product portfolio and customers to create strategic solutions that drive internal and customer value
- Review and provide constructive feedback on technical aspects of the product
- Maintain high team morale, excitement, and momentum
About You
Basic Qualifications
- Education in a technical field such as computer science or equivalent
- Over 6 years of experience, including 3+ years in technical product management leading a technical product
- A strong technical background with the ability to understand and articulate the architecture of sophisticated, distributed backend systems like a search service.
- Experience in successfully delivering platform or backend systems
- Ability to learn quickly in a fast-paced team including highly technical areas
- Ability to handle interpersonal relationships judiciously and professionally
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, including comfort with communication with senior leadership
- Ability to think about problems from different perspectives and leverage data driven analysis to drive roadmap development and prioritization
- Technical understanding of cross-platform UX development - desktop, mobile, and team-collaboration apps
- Ability to build and publish reports using performance monitoring tools
