The role is focussed on supporting product presales activities within Nokia’s Global Business Operations team. The Technical Tendering Specialist plays a critical role in translating customer requirements into clear, accurate, and compelling technical responses for Requests for Information (RFI) and Requests for Proposals (RFP). This includes analyzing customer needs, aligning proposed solutions with Nokia’s optical portfolio, and ensuring consistency with product roadmaps. The specialist works in close collaboration with sales teams to shape competitive, customer-focused solutions and with Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) teams to ensure technical accuracy, feasibility, and alignment with current and future product capabilities.
 

Responsibilities
  • Analyze RFx/RFP/RFQ documents to identify technical requirements and develop winning response strategies.
  • Collaborate with sales, product line management (PLM), and technical teams to define customer-centric solutions.
  • Prepare, review, and refine high-quality technical proposals and tender responses aligned with customer needs.
  • Support pre-sales activities by responding to customer technical queries and conducting solution presentations.
  • Develop and maintain a centralized, searchable repository of technical content for efficient proposal development.
  • Provide expertise in optical and packet transport technologies, including DWDM, OTN, POTN, and Ethernet networks.
  • Demonstrate strong knowledge of Network Management Systems (NMS), OSS, SDN, and cloud-native deployment architectures
  • Utilize expertise in OpenConfig, YANG, NBI/SBI interfaces, and modern network management frameworks.
  • Apply knowledge of optical network management standards and multi-vendor interoperability requirements.
  • Stay informed about industry trends, including advanced modulation techniques, pluggable optical transceivers, and Open MSAs
     
Qualifications
  • Manage multiple concurrent projects and deliver high-quality outputs within strict timelines.
  • Leverage experience in pre-sales engineering, bid management, tender responses, and customer engagement activities
  • Demonstrate familiarity with leading optical networking vendors and solutions, particularly Nokia and Ciena.
  • 8+ years of experience in optical and packet transport networking solutions.
  • Possess a bachelor’s degree in Electronics & Communication, Telecommunications, or Computer Engineering; a Master’s degree is an advantage.
  • Exhibit strong teamwork, communication, presentation, problem-solving skills, and proficiency in MS Office and SharePoint, with the ability to work independently and proactively.
  • Knowledge of Layer-3 technologies is considered an added advantage.
