The Technical Documentations team is a dedicated Engineering Learning Cloud division group. It drives developer engagement for cloud infrastructure services. We support and foster a library of over a thousand documents. This library houses a variety of Linux and Cloud topics. We inform our customers and build a better developer community.

Partner with the best

As a Technical Writer, you'll develop and update documentation for Akamai's security, compute, and delivery solutions. Working with experts, you'll simplify complex concepts for clarity. The role requires technical knowledge in fields such as software development or engineering, analytical abilities, and enthusiasm for improving information accessibility.

As a Technical Writer II, you will be responsible for:

  • Working cross-functionally to research, plan, write, and publish technical documentation
  • Collaborating with technical and non-technical SMEs to develop, organize, and write manuals, specifications, and process documentation.
  • Preparing source files for edit, SME review, and publication according to department procedures which includes Agile methodology.
  • Gaining a deep understanding of products and services, and translating complex information into simple, polished, engaging content
  • Developing content in alternative media forms for maximum usability, with a consistent voice across all documentation
  • Working with development and support leads to determine the best solutions for data presentation and interaction.
  • Developing, managing, and refining information architecture templates that align with organizational standards, ensuring seamless data migration and efficient updates.

Do what you love

To be successful in this role you will:

  • Have a Bachelor's Degree and 1 to 3 years of experience in technical writing
  • Have experience in using JIRA, confluence, and wiki, understanding of SDLC
  • Have experience collaborating with engineers to enhance UX, refine content, and create visuals for technical support
  • Have knowledge of HTML and CSS
  • Possess excellent communication and writing skills in English.
  • Have experience in writing documentation and procedure manuals for various audiences
