Wilhelmsen Port Services is seeking a Technology Operations Manager for our Chennai location.

In Wilhelmsen Port Services (WPS), we provide our customers with peace of mind while we handle their cargo, their vessels and their crew. We handle 75,000 port calls per year, which means that every 7 minutes, anywhere around the world, we send a ship safely out to sea again to fulfil its purpose. We match local expertise with strict global standards, making sure we consistently make our customers’ port calls as efficient and safe as possible.

Who you are:

You are an experienced line manager, adept at leading technology staff with a focus on Salesforce and enterprise application teams. You demonstrate strong people management capabilities, effectively guiding large, multi-disciplinary teams to achieve high engagement, sustained performance, and excellent retention.

You will proactively conduct regular one-to-one meetings, comprehensive performance reviews, career development planning, and wellbeing check-ins to support your team's growth and satisfaction.

You will coordinate all aspects of workforce planning, including onboarding and offboarding, managing leave, and succession planning to ensure operational continuity and talent development.

You shall work closely with HR on performance cycles, promotions, compensation processes, and policy compliance, ensuring alignment with organisational standards. You are committed to fostering a collaborative, accountable, and high-performing engineering culture.

The Technology Operations Manager will report to the Enterprise Solution Architect.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Ensure continuous growth and maturity of Salesforce engineering capabilities, including custom development, integrations, and platform best practices
  • Actively support recruitment and team expansion, including defining skill requirements, screening profiles, and conducting technical interviews and panels
  • Bring proven experience in technical hiring for Salesforce developers and engineers
  • Support training plans, certifications, mentoring, and cross-skilling initiatives
  • Build bench strength and reduce dependency on key individuals
  • Collaborate closely with the Platform and Delivery Lead to ensure build-to-run readiness and functional handover.
  • Ensure traceability across requirements, test cases, defects, and releases.
  • Own operational oversight of application support and run activities, with a strong focus on Salesforce platforms
  • Work closely with the Application Support Lead to ensure effective incident response, escalation, and resolution
  • Ensure strong build-to-run handovers and production readiness
  • Drive consistent support processes, documentation standards, and knowledge management
  • Act as the senior escalation point for service stability and support-related issues
  • Act as the operational anchor between delivery, platform, quality, and support teams
  • Support release readiness and environment coordination for Salesforce deployments
  • Ensure operational considerations are embedded into planning and execution
  • Provide operational updates to senior leadership

Qualification, Experience and Skills

  • 15+ years of experience in technology or engineering environments
  • Proven experience managing large-scale technology teams and engagements
  • Strong understanding of Salesforce and enterprise application lifecycles (build, test, deploy, support)
  • Demonstrated experience supporting recruitment and technical interviews
  • Solid background in application operations, incident management, and run activities
  • Strong people leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills

Preferred Certifications

  • ITIL® 4 Foundation or higher
  • Salesforce Certified Administrator or equivalent Salesforce certification
  • Certified Scrum Master (CSM), SAFe Agilist, or similar Agile certification
  • PMP®, COBIT®, or equivalent governance certification
  • ISO/IEC 27001 or change management certifications
