Job Description for Azure Cloud Database Engineer: Data Pipeline Development: Design and implement ETL workflows using Azure Data Factory, Databricks, and Python to ingest and transform data. Database Management & Optimization: Build, maintain, and optimize SQL and NoSQL databases, including Azure SQL Database, Azure Synapse Analytics, and Cosmos DB. Cloud Data Storage: Manage data storage solutions utilizing Azure Data Lake Storage (ADLS) and Blob storage. Security & Compliance: Implement role-based access control (RBAC), encryption, and data governance policies to meet security standards. Monitoring & Support: Monitor database performance, troubleshoot data pipeline failures, and optimize for cost-efficiency. Collaboration: Work with data scientists and analysts to support AI/ML workloads and data visualization (e.g., Power BI). Strong hands-on experience in integrating multiple databases like Oracle, SQL Server, etc Database Design & Deployment: Architect and provision Azure SQL Database, Managed Instances, and SQL Server on Azure VMs. Performance Tuning: Optimize database performance using tools like Query Store, execution plans, and performance metrics to resolve bottlenecks. High Availability & Disaster Recovery (HA/DR): Design and manage failover groups, Always On Availability Groups, and geo-replication to ensure business continuity. Security & Compliance: Implement role-based access control (RBAC), data encryption, and network security (Private Endpoints) to protect sensitive data.
