About the Role
As the Director of Engineering, you will lead the evolution of Vendasta’s global engineering
organization to build and scale AI-native, secure, and high-performance software systems. This role
exists to enable technical innovation through AI and automation, optimize delivery outcomes, and
foster a culture of engineering excellence that directly drives business and customer value.
As a key strategic leader reporting to the CTO, you will transform vision into execution by aligning
people, platforms, and processes. You will ensure our development ecosystem embraces AI at its
core to improve velocity, code quality, customer experience, and operational efficiency.
Your Impact
In this role, you will lead multiple teams of Software Developers, working cross-divisionally to
establish purpose, clarity, and technical innovation. You will:
Technical Strategy & Execution
● Translate product and platform vision into scalable engineering strategies and execution
roadmaps.
● Champion modern engineering architecture that balances AI innovation with system
reliability, security, and maintainability.
● Partner with the CTO and Chief Architect to guide decisions on infrastructure, system
architecture, and tooling.
Operational Excellence & Key Metric Delivery
● Establish, drive and track key metrics such as cycle time, deployment frequency, and team
velocity.
● Leverage AI for productivity, utilizing tools like AI coding assistants and incident prediction to
drive high-velocity delivery.
● Manage technical debt proactively, prioritizing it alongside product delivery needs.
People Leadership & Organizational Development
● Build a global, high-performing team fluent in AI technologies and upskill talent through AI
enablement programs.
● Strong drive and accountability to the results of the engineering group
● Foster a culture of curiosity, ethical AI experimentation, and continuous learning.

● Recruit and mentor talent, conducting weekly 1-on-1s with Engineering Management to
assist with professional development.
What You Bring to the Table
You are a seasoned leader and technical expert, able to navigate complex challenges in a dynamic
SaaS environment. You possess a "high-agency" mindset, characterized by deep ownership and the
ability to drive consistency in a scaling organization.
Your Core Experience & Capabilities:
● 10+ years of progressive software engineering experience, with at least 5 years in senior
leadership roles managing teams of 50+.
● Proven track record in SaaS and Agile methodologies, specifically scaling high-growth
platforms or marketplace products.
● Deep technical expertise in modern software architecture, cloud infrastructure (AWS/ Azure / GCP),
microservices, and CI/CD practices.
● AI & Digital Innovation: Experience leading AI transformation strategies and building
scalable, intelligent systems.
● Strategic Communication: Ability to balance business needs with technical excellence and
present technical cases to executive audiences.
Education:
● Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
