Job Family Definition:
Directs and leads a staff responsible for overseeing one or more sales operations areas, including sales support, sales processing, sales operations, account operations, and sales compensation operations. Develops strategies and performance plans to support a culture of customer, partner, and sales experience and process quality within their organization. Consults and interacts with corporate, business, and function sales leadership to achieve desired business revenue and order performance results. Responsible for design and implementation of sales operations tools, systems, processes and solutions, including strategies, communication, analytics and training. Ensures sales operations are aligned with overall business objectives in order to balance operational efficiency and stakeholder satisfaction.
Management Level Definition:
Leads a large or broad function/department within a multifaceted organization. Responsible for operational success, strategic alignment and integration of activities with other major organizational functions. Responsible for one or more recognized professional disciplines. Fully accountable for the success of the designated function or department. Influences strategy and sets policy and direction. Owns a significant number of measurable functional, operational and strategic goals or priorities. Assumes responsibility for the successful implementation of business plans in a defined area of responsibility. Contributes to the overall strategic definition of a function with strong business acumen. Acts as a key advisor to executive management in influencing the strategic direction of the business. Typically reports to VP.
Responsibilities:
- Role and Responsibilities
- Process Deployment and Improvement that ensures efficient release management of tool/infrastructure functionality as well as appropriate communication and management of change. Through cross-organizational coordination with the Process & Capabilities organization and HPE IT, this function ensures identification and appropriate prioritization of infrastructure/tool enhancements as well as defect management. In addition, consultation for in-depth process knowledge with various HPE organizations is also provided, such as will Business Controls Compliance, Credit & Collections, Sales, etc., in additional to internal improvement initiatives. This leadership should have experience with day-to-day operational management, implementation of strategic operational improvements linked with desired business outcomes, achievement of global process standards, and cross-organizational resolution of issues impacting operational achievement.
- Process Simplification, Standardization and Automation, providing end-to-end issue resolution and identification of a tactical issue resolution approach, including creation of various job aids needed to provide more efficient operations and achievement of performance goals. Coordination of process automation to help achieve strategic goals is also a feature of this function. This leader should possess the ability to provide overarching guidance to desired and optimal business operational outcomes, the potential impact of job aids and process automation to operational efficiency, and management of change to ensure operational compliance to various operational changes.
- Management of Business Support for internal operations and management of HPE IT support are other critical elements of this role. This leader should have basic understanding of HPE IT operations, helpdesk support, defect management, management of major outages, work-around scenarios, and business continuity management for both tool-down situations and other catastrophic outages.
- Support and internal management of the organizational Plan of Record (POR), including project management leadership for key initiatives across the business. This leader must be able to guide project goal achievement, remove internal and external roadblocks, and ensure the correct priorities and PM techniques are utilized to achieve business outcomes. In addition, this role is responsible for ensuring that all POR initiatives and independent improvement initiatives have the appropriate interlocks to maximize business outcomes and avoid conflicts.
- Financial support and tracking to ensure achievement of budgetary goals of the organization. This leader should understand and have experience with budget management in order to manage financial goal achievement and provide HPE Finance with necessary information for current period financial performance and appropriate forecasting data. This leader is responsible for ensuring the other organizational leaders have the appropriate information to manage their financial performance.
- Business Intelligence and reporting that supports and ensures smooth operation and achievement of critical improvement initiatives as well as providing critical insights to the end-to-end customer buying experience of HPE’s Operational Services. This leader should have experience with reporting basics, ensure reporting accuracy and timeliness, be able to guide the development of new metrics, and understand the basics of reporting automation and HPE data source strategies. Understanding of advanced analytics and AI techniques is a major plus.
- Development of Business Intelligence for HPE Services selling organization to Instrument Installed Base Data for business growth (upselling, cross-selling, refresh). Having the ability to interact with GEO and worldwide-level sales leadership to understand their go-to-market challenges is critical in order to provide the latest business insights to help drive growth, customer satisfaction, and business outcome achievement. This leader should possess the business acumen to understand country-level business differences, selling challenges, the unique BI requirements associated with the various products sold by HPE as well as the associated services. Knowledge on the Operational Services portfolio, upsell opportunities, upfront service conversion, service renewal challenges, and the needs and requirements of direct and indirect sellers are all helpful attributes of this leadership role.
Education and Experience Required:
- First-level university degree required; advanced university degree preferred.
- Typically 12+ years of experience in a business related function, preferably sales, finance, or accounting
- Experienced in managing large teams and/or organizations (50+ people) as 2nd line manager for more than 3 year
- Be familiar with Quote to Cash Operations and/or the Services business

Excellence & Insights, C&C, etc. - Workforce Planning: Strategic Workforce Planning & Alignment with HPE Operations initiatives using Workload Planning Tools
- Implementation of large scale optimization and transformation initiatives
- Demonstrated ability to build, develop and inspire talent. Builds highly effective diverse teams
- Embraces and leads management of change within the organization and with business partners and stakeholders
- Understanding of the company's policies and processes
- Identifies required process and capability changes, ensure efficient deployment and adherence to processes
- Share HPE’s value and understanding multi-national culture
- Be flexible with working time, travel and evening calls are acceptable
- Proficient English skill both orally and literally
