QA Manual Engineer (SDLC, JIRA, Web Technologies)
Software Requirements:
- Proficiency in manual testing of software applications.
- Strong understanding of the software development life cycle (SDLC) and testing methodologies.
- Experience with bug tracking and test management tools (e.g., JIRA, TestRail, Bugzilla).
- Familiarity with web technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript).
Overall Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute test plans, test cases, and test scripts based on project requirements and specifications.
- Perform functional, regression, integration, and user acceptance testing on web and mobile applications.
- Identify, document, and track defects using bug tracking tools.
- Collaborate with developers and stakeholders to understand requirements and provide feedback on testability.
- Participate in requirements reviews and provide input on testability and design.
- Ensure that products meet quality standards before release.
- Communicate testing progress and results to project stakeholders.
- Continuously improve testing processes and methodologies for efficiency and effectiveness.
- Assist in creating and maintaining testing documentation.
Technical Skills (Category-wise):
Testing Skills:
- Proficiency in manual testing processes.
- Strong understanding of SDLC and testing methodologies.
- Experience with functional, regression, integration, and user acceptance testing.
Tools & Technologies:
- Experience with bug tracking and test management tools (e.g., JIRA, TestRail, Bugzilla).
- Familiarity with web technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript).
Experience:
- 5-6 years of experience in manual testing of software applications.
- Experience with Agile/Scrum development methodologies is preferred.
- Knowledge of automation testing tools is a plus.
- ISTQB certification or equivalent is desirable.
Day-to-Day Activities:
- Develop and execute detailed test plans, test cases, and test scripts.
- Perform various types of manual testing on web and mobile applications.
- Identify and document defects, and manage them through bug tracking tools.
- Collaborate with developers and stakeholders to understand requirements and provide feedback.
- Participate in requirements reviews and offer input on testability and design.
- Ensure that software products meet quality standards before release.
- Communicate testing progress and results to project stakeholders.
- Continuously seek to improve testing processes and methodologies.
- Create and maintain comprehensive testing documentation.
Qualification:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
Soft Skills:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work well in a team environment and collaborate with stakeholders across different geographies.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Attention to detail and ability to work independently.
- Effective time management and prioritization skills.
