Senior Cloud Operations Engineer
ROLE DESCRIPTION SUMMARY
SES has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Cloud Operations Engineer. You will be part of a team responsible for implementing and supporting solutions in a multi-cloud AWS and Azure organization. This is a hands-on role that utilizes CI/CD pipeline infrastructure in AWS using IAC (Terraform) to meet business requirements. You will collaborate with development and operations teams to uphold robust security standards, optimize cost management through best practices, and provide guidance and knowledge to the rest of the organization.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES / KEY RESULT AREAS
Use monitoring tools to proactively troubleshoot issues and drive them to resolution
Automation: Automate repetitive tasks and workflows to enhance productivity and reduce human error.
Documentation: Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for system configuration and operational procedures.
Provide operational support to the software development community by responding to support requests
Document new solutions or changes to existing ones
Participate in an on-call rotation to resolve critical production incidents
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree in computer science or information systems or related field experience
Strong knowledge of Security Groups, IAM, VPC, EC2, Route53, S3, Lambda, SES, SQS, and SNS
Experience with AWS management console and IAC (Terraform, CloudFormation, etc.)
Knowledge of DevOps tools like Git, Jenkins, Docker, and Kubernetes.
Proficiency in programming languages such as PowerShell, Python, and/or others.
Familiarity with SRE principles, DevOps practices, and ITIL processes.
6+ Years' experience in administering enterprise cloud services and solutions in AWS
Understanding of TCP/IP and other networking services: DNS, Subnetting, DirectConnect, and Routing protocols
